Drug to treat a drug side effect. Good racket. I think big pharma is winning.
Yep...I bet a good part of peoples health problems are from the drugs and food additives they ingest.
A drug to treat a drug side effect, and what are the implications of that?
I will also assume that a majority of todays cancers come from ingesting various food additives, drugs, inhaling various elements, etc... most of them all approved by the FDA. Is it a conspiracy..no, just ignorance! Instead of reducing all these things, they just come up with another drug to counter it and in turn complicate the repercussions even further.
I'm not sure where you guys have been. There are drugs that counteract the constipation and nausea associated with taking pain killers. There are durgs that help reduce tardive diskinesia --a side effect of anti psychotic meds. The list goes on and on.
My question is will this drug help those who may have dense abdominal fat? Even if a person is NOT overweight they can have too much dense abdominal fat which is bad and nearly impossible to get rid of.
It would be a nice thing to explore.
Pharma has to get the money FAST from these patients..

I wonder how long it will take to get a drug out now for the side effects this drug will cause. In case nobody has noticed, there is NO money in the cure. And that is why there have been NONE since Polio. The drug companies have learned that if they can sustain you by making you take their over-priced pills they can make more money. And now they are making side effect pills....LOL..What a joke. VERY lucrative business indeed. And Mr. Obama's STUPID health care plan does NOTHING to control the cost of ANY of it. Prepare for your taxes to sky rocket when Obamacare fully kicks in. LEARN IT!!!
There is still no cure for Polio. Only a vaccine.
Vaccines are NOT the answer to anything. There is proof they don't work and the only benefit from them is if you own the company who is pushing the vaccines.
There has not been a cure because they are NOT looking for a cure.
The people who make money off you being sick don't want you to be cured. It would destroy their company. Common sense.
This is why the drug companies are pushing hard to STOP all mention of benefits of natural vitamins and supplements and if any company makes a statement that even remotely hints to a cure for something, they get sued into oblivion. (see PoM lawsuit)
If our medical field really wanted to help people, they would push prevention, not drugs.
We can start by getting rid of all the genetically modified foods and go from there.....
BTW, want a real vaccine from the flu? Start taking vitamin D3!! It has been proven to fight the flu far better than the vaccine of lies and its cheap. 2000 UI a day minimum and if you are overweight, take 4000-5000 UI a day as a start.
This wonderful news. Having known many people who have suffered from the devastating disfigurement of protease inhibitors, and as a physician, this is a welcome development.
While more can and should be done to find cures for life-limiting illnesses, the reality is that we will gain more headway in the immediate future by prolonging life and palliating symptoms. In fact, protease inhibitors, despite the side effects, have turned HIV into a chronic illness for many and not the death sentence that it used to be. The very nature of the drug predisposes one to the side effects -I'm sure many are happy to be alive the drawbacks notwithstanding.
Despite what you may think, there are relatively few CURES for illnesses that aren't surgical or antibiotic candidates, particularly the viral type and the treatments that we have for things like cancer and HIV all take their toll because they interfere with the DNA replication process, the very basis of life itself.

Hey International Observer, there is no cure for HIV. Really, it's not a conspiracy. HIV attacks and even evades the immune system like nothing else and mutates like crazy which makes a vaccine elusive and a cure even more so. The best way to treat HIV is with...a cocktail of drugs that target different bits of the viral machinery.
Surely people who have to take these drugs in order to lead a normal life are happy that one of the most common side effects can be mitigated.
Much like a chemo patient and post-op patient are happy that they can have a choice of different anti-emetics for CINV and post-surgery NV.
Great. Now another drug that the taxpayers have to pay for. We are sick of paying for immoral behavior.

What have transfusions to do with Homosexuals in the military? Yes soldiers sometimes need transfusions but if you check Plasma not blood is easier to use on the battlefield, plasma can be synthetic or natural. The reality is synthetic plasma is probably the blood product of choice on the battle field. I don't know that for sure----Perhaps the good DR. RJ could enlighten us.
So the spouse of the philanderer who contracts HIV or any other disease is immoral? And perhaps you'd rather condemn an addict rather than help him or her? Dirty needles have contaminated many individuals.
I find it interesting that the rationalizations the moralists use (I'm better than they are because my sins aren't as awful) are so similar to the same rationalization that most alcoholic / addicts use----My addiction is not as bad as their's. I only drink / use on weekends.

IDU in Asia have a 30 to 50% infection rates for HIV/AIDS.
A IDU in the EU have infection rates as high as 80%. And many of these countries have been pushing HARM reduction for DECADES.
In the USA HIV/AIDS is spread mainly by not using common sense and good hygiene.
I was in this test group about 2 years ago. Injecting myself in the belly each morning wasn't that bad. However, the side effect of the joint pain was almost unbearable. Fingers and knees were the worse and I didn't see much difference in my body.
