Of course men fake orgasms and certainly more often than we admit. Ejaculations are easy; orgasms are not. It amazes me how few women know that, for a man, ejaculation and orgasm are not the same thing.
Yeah, ladies, just because we messed-up your new dress doesn't mean that we really enjoyed it or anything. We're just a bunch of Tom Cats, spraying here, spraying there. It isn't anything personal or anything. Oh, and send us the cleaning bills.
That's what I'd like to know. Ladies don't believe these guys that tell you they orgasmed if you don't have something oozing out afterwards. Whether a guy does or doesn't it's rather obvious. Ladies don't be nieve to believe them. Why a guy would lie about it is beyond me. Guys not being able to do it or not often times has nothing to do with you. They may have already done it with someone else, or they are stressed. That pretty much covers it.
I know I've faked a lot of them. For most women, sex, after 15-20 minutes, becomes less and less pleasurable and more and more painful. If you're a guy and still going at it after that much time you have to choose to either hurt the woman (physically) to actually get off, just stop sex and admit to a lack of orgasm, which hurts the woman's ego/emotions/pride, or to lie/fake an orgasm. I've always chosen the latter.
Your tax dollars at work. We can all rest easy knowing the pursuit of such important matters are not only funded, (tax dollars or no) but advertised on fine news sites such as this. Wow.
No, actually... it's not... Just your poor reading comprehension skills at work.
We can all rest easy knowing the pursuit of such important matters are not only funded, (tax dollars or no) but advertised on fine news sites such as this. Wow.
Why do you care about it's funding? The article clearly said...
new study, carried out by psychologists at the University of Kansas
So it's not taxpayer funded.... If you didn't have to pay for it, why do you care how someone else spends their money? And how much could it possibly cost to ask some people some sex questions anyway?
You're probably just a chronic complainer aren't you....?
Try to spend more time getting laid (faked orgasms or no) and less time comlaining about things that have no bearing on your life, and you'll be a happier person.
"V", with respect to your comment "so it's not taxpayer funded", please note the following. In fiscal 2009, the University of Kansas had revenues of approximately $1 billion of which $450 million was derived from federal and state grants and appropriations. Facts are a nuisance. The study was a waste of money and 45% of the dollars KU gets are taxpayer dollars.
Nola, rest assured that I guarantee more taxpayer money is wasted on water in the dorms that goes down the drain while kids brush their teeth than was spent on sending out surveys (likely online) and tallying the results. This isn't some long, protracted study with large amounts of resources being devoted to investigating and analyzing complex data. It's a survey. Seriously.
I find it hilarious that people get worked up over the "waste" of meager amounts of taxpayer money while ignoring, and even justifying in cases, much greater, blatant wastes of taxpayer money.
Some people really need to get a grip and a real sense of priority.
Jim 336338, first, my response to "V' was simply correcting a factual error. Second, I do not know the manner in which the survey was conducted nor do I know the number of psychologists involved. It seems as if you do not know either. I do suspect that in the overall scheme of things it was not a significant amount compared to the $1billion they churn through a year. Nonetheless, it is a useless, wasteful study.I also do not know how you define "meager" but do know that I would not justify a waste by saying bigger wastes exist.
I'm a little curious as to why you consider this study "wasteful"? It seems the study covered numerous aspects of sexual health, and I don't believe, in this day and age, that sexual health can or should be ignored.
Studies like this help in the combating the transmission of HIV and other STDs. They provide backround to pyschologists and psychiatrists who use them to help the mental health of others. Perhaps this study or others like it will prevent a person with a sexual problem from becoming a sexual predator. As this appears to be just a survey, the cost would have been comparatively minor - getting a group together for a few hours (possibly paying them - which goes right back into the local economy) the cost of paper, pencils and having some grad student tabulate the results. A few thousand dollars at the outside.
And if it saves just one kid from a sexual predator, well, how much is That worth to you...? Still a big waste?
Faking orgasms to not hurt your lover's feelings equates to sexual health? How so? This has nothing to do with the physiology of the human reproductive organs. I also do not see any ties whatsoever to the idea that this stupid study would help a sexual predator not lash out.
As a forensic psychologist who has performed studies with public funding, I have some experience in this area. What blows me away is that people seem to think that only applied research is worth being funded at all. Many of the greatest discoveries of physics, biology, and human behavior have occurred as a result of "blue sky" research funded by the public. We should be proud that, as a nation, we have all played a part in bettering our understanding of the human mind and behavior.
The fact is, this type of research would be extremely cheap. It helps us understand human beings. That is what psychology is about. If you need more, then consider the number of people with sexual dysfunctions or other problems of a sexual nature. Studies like this help treat those people and help them lead healthier sex lives.
If you think that this still isn't worthy of public funding, please consider that some murders happen as a direct result of a feeling of sexual inadequacy. Ask any profiler who deals with sexual homicide. Helping people have better sex lives can literally save lives. We shouldn't need something this serious, though, to do research that can better the lives of others, particularly cheap and easy survey research.
Hell, if it's taking too long (usually when I'm really tired) I just tell my wife if it is okay to stop. Since she is one that has difficulty having an orgasm from intercourse alone I usually have already given her one by other means before intercourse. So she is as least partly satisfied if I can't finish. This idea that everyone has to be perfect all the time in the bedroom is silly.
I have to agree, my husband takes care of me before intercourse and if it is harder to achieve during intercourse... this is one happy wife ALREADY!! :D
well who just wants to make love and be hella quite, how awk would that be... there is nothing wrong with some moaning and screaming even if it is fake,
and he has a pot belly and hasn't shaved in 3-4 days. he also has body odor and refuses to shower daily. hasn't brushed his teeth in a week. he is not hot. except for the excessive sweating that pours out of his stinky armpits
There is a whole other aspect that everyone seems to be leaving out of this. Sex and orgasms come much easier when you are finally with the right person. If you are not relaxed and enjoy everything about the person your are with sex is never going to be good. We with out a doubt know we where meant for each other and are best friends. Sex 3-5 times a week. It is great every time, it is not work and no expectations and orgasms every time. I agree with many of the comments posted here, but if you want a real solution find that person that is your best friend first, your soul mate if you will, someone that you can completely let your guard down with, the rest comes easy.
Or under artillery fire, especially the simulated kind where their is no possibility of death. Not to mention its a moment of pride for any guy when your woman is louder than a battery of 155s.
I know he fakes it, because it doesn't feel like hard evidence. Being 1) premature and or 2) erectile dysfunction and or 3) so completely naive (at his age 58+ he doesn't think he has to um, think; therefore will not learn). I'd rather be without - since I already am. So sad...
It's very easy to fake it as long as the happy ending is not visible.
Men that have sexual endurance are less sensitive. This often makes sex with a condom unreliable for orgasm, especially if the woman has dryness problems and wants additional lubricant. Other factors in lower sensitivity are alcohol, cough medicine, pain relievers (vicodin). Add to that an odd "thrusting platform" with an extra soft mattress or slippery sheets, the male job is physically difficult. It's amazing what a guy will go through to complete the job. That's motivation.
Some women are just a pain in **s in the sack, particularly when they have no contribution of effort in sex and lie there like a log expecting to be pleasured to Eden. Leavin' is more appealing than lovin'.
I can't even believe I'm posting on this topic, but here goes...
Believe it or not, I have come across some men who PREFER a woman not to do a lot in the sack...some sort of superiority complex...One guy had a hard time reaching the "end" if a woman was actually active (doing "favors" or being active during intercourse, didn't matter)...he preferred the woman to lay mostly lifeless and be all "victorian" as he put it... Explain that, because I'm still somewhat perplexed...And before all the comments start about the gal being so bad in bed it was better for her to not participate...these desires were mentioned before anything had ever occurred...
Its a dominance thing. He wants/needs to feel in total control of the situation. If the woman is active she becomes a threat to his dominance of her. Its a trait common amongst rapists and serial killers, just for your information. Personally I find that boring and have the scars, bruises and broken bones(don't even ask) to prove it.
Its a trait common amongst rapists and serial killers, just for your information.
Yeah...seems a little creepy to me...not so much having an occassional "fantasy" being fulfilled, but the whole having to do it every time in order to function properly part...
I can understand why the guy can't get excited when the woman is dominant. I am an aggressive woman who finds that when I act submissive I get better results from my signifcant other. It goes against the male brain to want to be dominated. I get more pleasure from being 'taken', it is the only time he gets the 'upper hand'. LOL
V, your virulence and vulgarities are the perfect compliment to your views, which as pointed out are not valid.
Regarding comprehension you might want to review the qualfication I made: (tax dollars or no).
Besides thinking before you spew your venom, you may also find it useful to take your own advice and not get so hung up on someone/something that has "no bearing on your life."
Reread your post while repeating the thought to yourself: Chronic Complainer.
In all fairness, all your original post was, was complaining. Complaining about it being funded ("tax dollars or no") and the site's choice to report the survey's findings.
Why do you care that a site that reports or links to literally hundreds of news stories a day reported this one? I don't understand what's so hard about avoiding stories that don't appeal to you, rather than whine about the fact that a certain story was reported.
And if MSNBC (or any other private source) funded the study, why would that be of any concern to you? Are you still living the lie that ANY cable "news" outlet is actually reporting substantial news over more entertaining, titillating or polarizing items?
Seriously, maybe I'm naive, but doesn't a man's orgasm/ejaculation go hand in hand? (no pun intended!) If he's faking I hope he's wearing a condom, otherwise I think she would figure out the grand finale was missing after the event was over.
"Some of the women wrote that they actually could have orgasmed, but they chose a pretend orgasm in the right sequence — before or during the man's orgasm — rather than an actual orgasm in the wrong sequence," the authors wrote.
WHOA...seriously? They'd rather have a FAKE one at the "right time" than a REAL one at the "wrong time." Alrighty, if you say so...but not me.
What's worse is biologically, a woman should orgasm second. Scientists have looked at the mechanics of the female orgasm and found that the mouth of the uterus dips down into the vaginal canal. This mechanism helps pull the man's ejaculate into the uterus to increase the odds of fertilizing the egg. So, evolutionary/biological order should be man orgasms, putting the ejaculate in the woman, then woman orgasms, pulling ejaculate into the uterus.
Oh yeah, been there. I can always get it up for the better sex but sometimes too much booze and recent sex gets in the way of coming. The beauty of the condom is that you can fake it if you know it ain't going to happen. The downside is that maybe if you didn't have it on you'd be able to come. I'll have to go monogamous to find out, cause there's no way I'm taking off the raincoat. But one woman, all the time is way too boring for me right now.
MsAubrey- Says you. Overanalyzing thinks is a habit of mine, and it sucks. "When she said this, did she mean this gr was it actually a hidden signal for this? @!$%#, if I can't figure this out, I'm gonna get in trouble"
I'm kinda the opposite. I have such a bad case of premature ejaculation that I have to fake NOT having had an orgasm, otherwise the woman starts to get discouraged and thinks, "Oh, #$%#&! This is about to be over!"
Don't know how you can fake it after prematurely ejaculating. The facial expressions always gives you up. Like a comedian stated: the woman knows when your face looks like you are about to either sneeze or throw up.
Goes to show how little women know about men. Any man can train himself to not ejaculate during an orgasm. It's not all that hard. Just research Tantric Sex. And then fake away.
Even with a condom... Many can still 'feel' when it's about to happen or does... Men tend to get just a little bit harder just before and during ejaculation and orgasm. And yes... A male orgasm CAN happen without ejaculation.
I agree with MsAubrey as I have been told by women they can tell right before I cum during a BJ that I get harder/stiffer. However not sure during vaginal as it is a medical fact that inside the women vagina it is not sensitive.
Sometimes a man cum a lot and therefore a women would know base on the discharge however some times a man cum very little or not at all and therefore no discharge, thus fake an orgasm without a women’s knowledge depending on how sensitive they are.

This article reminds me of the definition of "eternity"...Which of course is the time between when you come and she leaves.
really? How is that possible and what is the difference?
That's what I'd like to know. Ladies don't believe these guys that tell you they orgasmed if you don't have something oozing out afterwards. Whether a guy does or doesn't it's rather obvious. chickenamnn, that's what foreplay is used for. Don't have sex as often and you'll be able to finish sooner.
@Robert Karp: Have sex... less often? Christ I already can measure the lunar cycles by how rarely I get laid...
Gray your hair. Women love it for some reason.
Your tax dollars at work. We can all rest easy knowing the pursuit of such important matters are not only funded, (tax dollars or no) but advertised on fine news sites such as this. Wow.

Guys volunteer to make that weird 'orgasm face' when they didn't need to?
Well, sometimes your show is about to come on.
^^- hahahahaha!!!!!
It is sad when your sex-life is planned around the next Desperate Housewives or Teen Mom
Robin Williams said that men DON'T fake orgasms because no one wants to look that stupid!
well who just wants to make love and be hella quite, how awk would that be... there is nothing wrong with some moaning and screaming even if it is fake,
GET UR "O" FACE ON... (:-0) @ least 3 times a day
Dear Boys and Girls,
If you are faking orgasms, then you are either having waaaay too much sex or thinking too much during sex.
Abstain for awhile.
Love,
Hal
Or she's just not that hot...

.patA - why would you even have sex with this guy? much less need to fake an orgasm.
Sounds like it's her husband.
sounds like my X husband! His idea of "foreplay" was to brush his teeth. blech.

Yeah, well, faking orgasm during sex is normal... Faking during masturbation -- now that's sick...
I remember as a teenager having a conversation with my friends about foreplay in masturbation......
How on earth does a man fake an orgasm?
Same as on the moon -- but with 6 times the gravity...
It's very easy to fake it as long as the happy ending is not visible.

THAT is what I don't understand - I have never had an experience when I wasn't messy after the act.
Condoms.
jhoopy, that post made me laugh so hard my headache went away! Thanks!

There's a Seinfeld for that. Actually, just about every life situation, but one specifically one for faking male orgasm.

aaaaaaaAAAAAAAGGHHHRRRRRRR WHEw!!! Sorry i faked one.
that was sick,, but funny
"and that they wanted sex to end"
uh huh...lol
Seriously...its a guy, we're not that difficult to figure out.
Unless you're not a guy, I guess.
I'm not a guy... But I understand them... They're relatively simple creatures. They don't overthink or overtalk things.
Good for you. Maybe you can explain some of the stuff on the news to me.
MsAubrey- Says you. Overanalyzing thinks is a habit of mine, and it sucks. "When she said this, did she mean this gr was it actually a hidden signal for this? @!$%#, if I can't figure this out, I'm gonna get in trouble"
and this is news? why?
I'm kinda the opposite. I have such a bad case of premature ejaculation that I have to fake NOT having had an orgasm, otherwise the woman starts to get discouraged and thinks, "Oh, #$%#&! This is about to be over!"
Don't know how you can fake it after prematurely ejaculating. The facial expressions always gives you up. Like a comedian stated: the woman knows when your face looks like you are about to either sneeze or throw up.
That's it. I just fake a sneeze and she thinks that's all it was. I explain the sneezing as a slight pheromone allergy.
Just look at the toes. Spontaneous toe curling = probably having real orgasm.
I've had sex with over 80 women. I have no problems bringing them to orgasm during intercourse. Some of you guys sound like you're missing something.
hookers dont count..they get paid to fake it.
Yeah. That you know of. An effective fake is one that makes you think it's real. That's the whole point. LOL
The only one that can tell if a woman faked is herself. And they fake for two reasons, to get you off of her or to hurry you up to get off of her.
What's funny is when both parties fake it. Who is fooling who?
Goes to show how little women know about men. Any man can train himself to not ejaculate during an orgasm. It's not all that hard. Just research Tantric Sex. And then fake away.
Of course everybody faked it at least once, not susprising the guys have also I mean come everyone knows "the face" is fake...
Exactly!
Seen that face in the 'movies' countless times.
I have faked it at times because it wasn't going to happen and was getting tired.
Some women have called me on it saying that they can feel the cum rush. Oral, understandable but vaginal?
Is this true ladies?
Yes, this is usually true. It's the sudden warmth and lubrication.
Ya, someone brave enough to comment. Thank-you and I hope this helps many readers on this newvine...
You are experienced Jack in OH but you do not know that women can feel when you cum inside them? Really?
Sometimes it is possible to feel it, but it depends on the man and his technique. Not always a given.
Even with a condom... Many can still 'feel' when it's about to happen or does... Men tend to get just a little bit harder just before and during ejaculation and orgasm. And yes... A male orgasm CAN happen without ejaculation.
Women know because when they stand up it oozes out. If nothing oozes out and you faked it then it's obvious to them you're fill of it.
I can tell even with my husband in the nether regions. Maybe it's the 'fitting like a glove' scenario is why? Or strong kegals in both people?
