One problem with American health-care is that it is top heavy with expensive administrative costs. The whole system needs to be restructured. We cannot go on with unchecked capitalistic tendencies in our health care that leads to unsustainable costs. Everyone, who opts to work or supply within the US health-care system, should be prepared for a realistic drop in earnings. This reduction ought to affect not only doctors, but high paid nurses, techs, administrators, drug companies, etc. Unions must cooperate with hospitals, too, as qualified, higher paid staff probably would prefer a pay cut instead of a lay-off. Delaying the inevitable may cause a major collapse and the sick will go untreated.
