Pulling the drug Meridia off the Market is a nightmare for me. I've had Lyme disease and 2 spinal surgery's due to a work related accident. I've been taking Oxycodone to manage chronic pain for the last 3 years and it barely dose the job. I feel sick all the time from this med. Can't go back to work because of narcotics and I go through severe depression due to my limitations. I'm 52yrs old. Too young too fell this old and live in chronic pain. Meridia has done two amazing things for me. It helps me manage my pain better then Percosets And eliminated my depression allowing me to see light at the end of the tunnel without side effects. I've tried several other options eg; Lyrica for one. which is an anti deepressant that has caused me to exprience sucidal thoughts, like what all anti-deoressant s do to me, (Meridia dose not do that to me) I can't function without this medication. Every other pain reliever upsets my digestive system and makes me sleepy all the time.. Meridia eliminated all systems of Fibromyligia and allows me to tolerate the pain in my spine for minimal everyday chores, Which helps me wanting to live. I can function without opiods. also helps my arthritis tremendously. I've done physical labor all my life. not being able to be physically active makes me feel like my life is finished and not worth living. I need Meridia for these purposes. Since taking Meridia, My lfe has been slowly comming back together. I beg for this drug to stay available.. PLEASE, I've tried other pain meds from pain management Doctors that only incompacitates me and stops me from living.Leave this drug available. The bennifit outways the risk for this purpose. There are more dangerous drugs on the market Like Cialis, Viagra, and more. Also this drug dosn't eat away at my liver and stomach..

Since both naltrexone and buproprion (Wellbutrin) are already available separately, doctors should just start an obese patient on one of them and observe any side effects before adding the other.

This "new" weight loss drug takes away this option, thus increasing the potential for side effects without letting doctors know which of the drugs is causing the problem(s).

Since buproprion has fewer side effects and is used more widely than naltrexone, then it would make sense to prescribe that first, follow the patient, and later add the naltrexone if addictive eating patterns have not subsided.

Kind of scary with all of these "drugs" on the market. I still think it better to go all natural and forego all the crazy side-effects.
