Although a "points"-type system can never really relate all of the fine points of nutritional planning to a user, I'm glad to see a major company like WW move in the right direction. Just monitoring caloric input and expecting optimal results is 1970's technology. We know so much more these days about the interplay between food, hormones, and fat loss that we are able to make the process of body composition management quite efficient. While WW is a decent plan for some people, most would likely benefit from a little more education and personal attention. Becoming self-sufficient is the goal, not just fat loss. Learning how to rely on yourself for dietary answers instead of a "points" label will benefit you for the rest of your life.
As a lifetime member, I just restarted attending the meetings today. The new system does edge people toward making healthier choices--and that is always a good thing. For a person who was never really trained in how to eat right, WW really does help at giving people a fighting chance to lose weight.

so the new point system works how? Not an informative article at all -- in fact, the title says it all.
