These people are nothing but ghouls. If anyone enters my home it try to force me to donate organs they will be shown the door in no uncertain terms. Organ donation is an abomination against nature and should be declared illegal. It is immoral of the medical community to try to force this decision on grieving people, and selfish of others who expect others to butcher their loved ones for someone else. As for the govt...it should butt the hell out of our lives!
Bethcat, did you actually read the article? There will be no forcing or strong arming the family members.
Curious why you think organ donation is an abomination? Is cremation also an abomination?
But really, what will the deceased do with their organs? If an otherwise healthy person passes on for whatever reason, the healthy organs can give many others a shot at a normal life. In a sense, the donor lives on through the recipient and the recipient's grateful family.
Don't care about saving the lives of others. Mutilation for someone else's benefit is just plain wrong and immoral. And yes I did read the article. This is merely the first step to govt intervention that would force families to do this even though they oppose it.
Organ donation is voluntary. There is no movement towards forced donations.
Why do you say that donation is immoral? I am curious where your beliefs come from. Religion? Personal preference (I take it you have not designated yourself an organ donor)?
Are you against all medicine, since you 'don't care about saving the lives of others'? What if you get very sick, regardless of if that illness requires an organ donation to potentially save your life?
When my husband was in critical condition, the hospital didnot even wait to find out if he would survive the surgery before they were hassleing me to sign over his organs. That's why! He DID survive. That is why I will never allow any one to even broach this subject with me about my loved ones. As for saving my own life. I don't want anyone else's spare parts.
