No problem, Gregg. Can you please explain to the rest of us "ignorant liberals" just exactly what the Republicans have done for the good of the common people lately, especially in terms of health and welfare?
You know, there is a reason the Republicans have a reputation for being cold and insensitive. Maybe you could disprove this notion, hmm?
I agree with Gregg. I don't want government running every aspect of our lives. I can't believe that some of the people posting can't see the socialism that has come about in just the last two years. I am retired and with the way things are now, I have to be very careful. We had planned on alot of traveling, but with the economy the way it is now we're not going anywhere. This administration just doesn't get it. Spend as much as you can and let the taxpayer foot the bill. No problem. Then whine when someone says stop.
The party of NO is at it again, now obstructing and delaying a bill that would help feed, American children. If it’s not threatening to obstruct unemployment benefits for people out of work caused by their economic policies over the eight years of the Bush debacle, it was their opposition to the Economic Recovery Act, or Health Insurance Reform, or Cash for Clunkers or the Credit Card Holders Bill of Rights than it’s their desire to destroy Social Security, or their lying about WMD, or death panels now they are taking food out of children’s mouths all the while giving their rich, corporate, puppet masters obscene tax breaks. By the time the GOPee gets done there will be a rich 2% and everyone else with no middle class as the US starts to look like a third world country.
While I agree that the degree of socialism observed in this country must of course have some reasonable limits, I also believe that there does at this time also exist a very real threat of going too far in the other direction as well. I'll give you a couple of links to look at when you get a chance and let you draw your own conclusions.
If you take the time to read them in their entirety and compare the ideology to that of some of the voices now being heard I believe you shall discover the cause for my concern. Have a pleasant evening.
This is priceless. They'll fight to keep tax cuts for the wealthy. They'll allow two unfunded wars to continue. But school lunches for kids is the straw that breaks the camels back????
Yes, but we allowed the Greg's to put them in office. Just as we did the Bush's. So sit back and enjoy the ride. None of it is going to affect me, I'm retired and doing just fine, and my son is out of college and has a six figure job.
How about making the parents responsible for what the children eat? Also, how about making the parents responsible for feeding their own children and not expect us taxpayers to foot the bill constantly. Too many generations of lazy families have sucked on the government teat for too many generations. It's time to take resonsiblity for your own kids. I saw a segment of Judge Judy not too long ago and there was a woman on there who had 10 kids and was on welfare. The judge was furious. This crap has to stop! I'm sick and tired of paying for their spitting out a kid every year and expecting us to support them. Enough already!
IF YOU CAN FEED THE CHILDREN, AND THEREBY IMPROVE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE SO THAT THEY CAN BE EDUCATED, IT WILL HELP SOCIETY AS A WHOLE. They will contribute to society, and be less apt to turn to crime. There will be less strain on welfare. And most importantly, it stops the cycle of "lazy families". Investing in children's basic needs improves society in countless ways, and saves a lot of money on prisons, drug issues, health care, and welfare just to name a few.
With 9.6% unemployment brought on by the repubs and their failed policies of the past, some of these people just don't have the resources left to feed their children the way they should. Now the Repubs are saying to let them starve! Such hypocrites they are and so heartless. I can't believe I live in America. I remember a saying from a long time back, It goes:"He aint Heavy, He's my Brother"
We have become a country of "I've got mine, screw the rest". Why do so many people think that if only we gave the rich more we would get more? Lets really give more to the middle class and raise the top 2% tax rate to 45%.
When is the American public going to wake up and see what the Republican and Democrate agendas are? People neither party is working for the American publeic. The Republicans being the worst of the two. It is like watching a brother and sister fight with each other and not caring what is right.
The Republicans seem to believe the wealth of this Country needs protection from the poor. Okay, I get it! While your handing Corporate America a myraid of tax breaks/incentives/bail-outs to fatten their wallets, starve the kids. After playing a pivotal role in destroying the economy, kick sand in the face of the Middle Class & dehumanize the Poor. All in the name of what? Sorry, can't remember what your purpose is anymore! !&#%?~'s
How about making the parents responsible for what the children eat? If you're capable of recognizing junk food you should be able to figure out which foods have nutritional value. Junk food is no cheaper than nutritional food.
Also, how about making the parents responsible for feeding their own children and not expect the taxpayers to constantly foot the bill. It's time to take responsibility for your own kids.
And for heavens sake, stop having numerous kids you can't afford to feed or TRAIN. You're NOT doing the kids any favors because you're such a selfish loser. Your kids are your responsibility. The time to act responsibly is before you have children. GROW UP!
I am a long way from well off but I also didn't piddle away every dime I earned while working by living for the moment and not doing SOME planning for the future. Would forcing us all to depend on welfare make you happy?????
While they talk about hungry children they at the same time talk about childhood obesity...now what's wrong with this picture?
Maybe your right! Lets quit feeding the World because thats not our fault they are poor & hungry either. Maybe in a perfect World, but we are far from perfect! Famon comes from many different avenues not under the control of those less fortunate to provide for their families. You need to expand your thinking to recognize it's not only the fault of those in need.
More Democrat Nanny Socialism at it's best.
It's all about the Children, No, it's just more pandering to a welfare state created by the Democrat Party. (party symbol = Jackass)

Yeah, let those kids starve. They'll just grow up to be on welfare. And while we're at it why not just euthanize anyone over 60?
And let all the unemployed live in the streets if they're too lazy to get a job.
Welcome to the tea party state.
Another do-nothing bill that costs the taxpayers money. The republicans were right to block it.
This is priceless. They'll fight to keep tax cuts for the wealthy. They'll allow two unfunded wars to continue. But school lunches for kids is the straw that breaks the camels back????
I'm really starting to think that ALL Republicans are really Luciferians pretending to be Christians in order to trick US into putting them in power.
These Godless F**ks will pay the price in the end.

Maybe Obama should change his name to Barrack George Bush Obama--then the gutless republicans will pass anything!!!!

But the kids are here. So your answer is to let them starve. You would penalize the kids for what you perceive are the wrongs done by the parents?
How do you sleep at night?
Maybe we should sterilize people who have too many children. Oh wait, that's been tried already - in Germany in the 40's.
