Vocalizing our woes is healthy. Women often are more open about their feelings and this could contribute to why they live longer than men. It's unhealthy to be stoic and withhold complaints. Why not let it out to a sensitive human or animal? Often times the pain can subside or one can get an idea on how to resolve the problem.
You think I would get on line and tell people my penis has shrunk, and woke up my *ss hurts - like I was prison raped, and top it off - someone stole my donut at work - because I left it out...I'll I got to say is you want some cheese with that wine...
I believe that people should be more transparent. I have always been really healthy. I never suffered from anything major. When something bad did happen and people asked me how I was I said "I'm OK, because I didn't want to seem weak.
Telling someone you don't feel well does not make you weak it makes you truthful, just because you tell someone you are sick or that your back may hurt or you have a tooth problem does not mean you are whining.
I have a brain aneurysm, a lot of people know about it because it has taught me to be a much calmer person than I use to be. When I told people about it I was in Church about to sing a song that God has put on my heart "My Life is in Your Hands". I was not whining, just telling people what I have and that I am thankful I am in God's hands.
There are times when it is ok to tell folks that you are sick, that keeps them from hugging you and getting sick too.
Yes, whining is prolific these days. I wrote a book about it, as political fiction, to indicate how it zaps the culture all the way up and all the way down. The book is entitled Debilitating Democracy.
I'd gripe about the constant pain I'm in, but I've had so many operations on my knees they look like I lost a knife fight with a midget. Ever since I was a kid I've had this problem. It has to do with congenital defects in the joints. Of course, my ankles are bad, too, and I had a complete rupture of my Achilles tendons. Don't even ask me about my shoulders. I had surgery and they still dislocate. It didn't help when I cracked up my motorcycle and broke my collar bone. That happened right in the middle of a period of severe headaches.
This is one of the few articles that is thought provoking, relevent, and accurate. It brings to light the fact that we live in a society comprised of an overwhelming majority of morons who care less about the country sinking into third world tyranny than letting the world know when they last wiped their noses or had an argument with their drugged out low life relatives. Welcome to the new and improved United States. It simply shows to what lengths people will go to have their few minutes of "fame" or recognition. Ask Oprah, Jerry Springer, and their ilk. They're all zillionaires thanks to the morons we've bred over the last 50 years.
I never really thought about this one. But my Grandma was diagnosed at 27 with RA & it was crippling. She worked for a large bank downtown from high school & became the head of the credit card Dept. Even when it was impossible for her to get ready for work or even hold a brush(My Mom did it) she never missed a day in the 38 years she worked there. Complain no never saw it. After having her joints replaced & her neck fused she got better. When I was 16 in'88 she was diagnosed with bone cancer but it took a while to figure it out. Her pain would cause her to pass out & one time her heart stopped. My grandpa got her back. After the large tumor burst through her pelvic bone that's when we knew. She lived with that for 16 long years which even her Doc's had never seen. Never did she let it stop her. I am now almost 40 & I never complain about anything. Broke so what? I can do broke well. Sick most certainly I am but complaining will not help me anymore than worry would. Who would give a damn anyway? But the article was so right & just thankful that I'm not needy like that. To me it is pathetic!
Whiners, complainers, purveyors of doom and gloom, sickly people who want attention. I blame the big pharmaceutical companies who bombard us with advertisements for new ailments and coincidentally they just discovered a new drug for this previously unknown ailment.
On the other hand, people that use fragrant household products really are getting sicker from all the toxic fragrant chemicals in those products like Bounce dryer sheets, Febreze, plugin air fresheners, etc... The chemicals in these products make the air in your home toxic. The University of Washington research into toxic fragrant products is available at this website:
And we wonder why our country is a bunch of weaklings and depression is so high and suicide is so high and MEDICATION abuse is so high.
The more you CODDLE the weak and whiny, the worse they become!!! Growing up, when I would whine, I would get that CORRECTED IMMEDIATELY!! Children should not whine about 'hard lives' when they eat everyday, live in a home, get games, clothes, bling, etc etc and have No jobs..but want to whine!!
My Mother would say "if this is the worse in your life, you better get on your knees and thank GOD for your blessings and easy life"...I was raised by a single parent, so whining about life was not allowed, especially when I was NOT the one who had to take care of myself or another person!!!
Yep, the Greatest Generation (pre-Boomers) were better slaves all around. They did their work uncomplainingly, they lived only to survive, they pulled their time, skimped and saved, never called in sick, were loyal to their masters, and were rewarded with a few brief years to enjoy life in their decrepitude after retirement. (On the other hand, they *had* a retirement, or pension.) Folks nowadays expect life to be fair, they expect to enjoy their time on the earth, what whining pansies! That day you took off to see your daughter's piano recital, that cut into the boss's profit margin, you slacker! And looking for human sympathy from others shows weakness, weakness that should never be tolerated in a exceptional society such as ours! Shut up and get back to work, you worm!
Because we are spoiled and self-centered. There are real pains in life and i see nothing wrong with getting professional help to cope with them, but folks grow tired of hearing others constantly complain - like ailments are the most important thing going on in their lives. Most people have problems of their own and are not inclined to be genuinely concerned enough to worry over someone else. We have not learned to grow old gracefully or to accept and tolerate hardship and inconvenience. It's all about an all-consuming preoccupation with taking care of number "one" first.
Slow news day I guess...................whaaaaaa!

Whiner Power!
If you wanna see whining just go on facebook for 5 mins and read all the complaints from your "friends"
Sounds like a bunch of uneducated tea-baggers in here.

Though I agree, anyone else see this article in itself as a long, drawn-out, giant WHINE?
I like to get on the Vine here, and bitch about everything! Its liberating!

I just suck it up and keep going, though.
