You can be fat and fit. Research supports fit but fat people live longer healthier lives than those who are skinny and unfit. The goal should be fitness not an obsession on the scales.
Your length of life is not the best gauge of good health. It's the absence of chronic illness and disease that differentiates a good life from poor one. If you manage somehow to survive to a hundred but with the last sixty years of that being in poor health, can you really call it living? Better to live into your 70's all the while being sexually active, able to participate in sports, enjoying the food you eat, and maintaining good social relationships. That defines living far better than only the number of years you continue surviving.
