It took over 10 years for the State of California to come up with an excuse to close this clinic! That seems fishy to me. As for the clinic's reluctance to share HIV information about their clients, I wouldn't trust the State, much less the Local agencies with ANY sensitive information, especially given the controversial nature of their client's occupation.

Given that patient Zeta has identified himself (Derrick Burts) and claims that this clinic told him it was another actor who was known to be infected with HIV that infected him... but then they later recanted that statement (based on Derrick Burts statements).... it seems they aren't terribly trustworthy either. Nor do they seem to be able to protect the workers in this industry.

Derrick Burts also went on to say that shortly after they told him he was infected, they treated him like dirt, even though one of their sales pitches is that they will counsel and help those discovered to be infected.

So despite what you may think about the long standing battle between conservative and barely tolerating government and the sex industry, this story rings as true as it always has, sex workers are treated poorly and with little respect in general by both sides. Its sickening, despite what your opinion about them is, they are human beings too.

Though I think the porn business is distasteful and degrading, I do believe that the "actors" (and I use that term loosely) do need a place to go for HIV testing. However, the clinic needs to cooperate with state officials just like any other clinic does. Of course, the use of condoms would help prevent the spread of disease, but then the "actors and actresses" wouldn't get paid as much.

The porn industry should be shut down by our Government. It goes against every type of reason we have here for being true to our loved ones. It makes the act of making love to your partner mean nothing more than having sex without any reason or meaning! What a bunch of scumballs making a living by doing this. Make it illegal and inforce the law!
