I would say there are drawbacks...1 Because VIR-576 is a peptide and must be given through injections, 2. it will be costly and inconvenient to use, 3. the high dose of 5 grams a day would also make it relatively expensive. Not to mention painful, 5 grams is about 1/6 ounce...By injection??? Inconvenient???...Ouch!!!
I was 6 years old the first time another kid on the school bus teased me by saying "you have AIDS!" I didn't know what AIDS was until later that day when I asked my first grade teacher. Three years later, my cousin died from AIDS at 27 years of age. I knew then that something had to be done to crack the secrets of this disease and I was only 9 at the time.
This is a hopeful step toward a real cure and I am glad. I am 30 now and feel like we may cure this in my lifetime. Merry Christmas indeed! :)
As a person that was "officially" diagnosed in 1987, but my gut feeling is that I was infected as early as 1982. I recently got an email from newsmax about a German man was given a blood stem cell transplant and it seems to have cured his HIV. To my understanding this was done three years ago, you'd think they'd try to follow that path something could be there. And it was done because he had some kind of cancer, I'm also cancer survivor so it makes me wonder if I'd be a candidate.
I also read about that guy. but I think it's that same old thing where his viral load is now undetectable and I believe they just have to keep on checking him for so many years before they can claim any real success. someday....... someday soon I hope it will be cured.

People can inject themselves... diabetics have been doing it for 50 years or more. I do not understand this statement. Choice: 1.) inject medicine 2.) die So is it really that difficult.
Living with HIV/AIDS is not so terrible if we know how to control it.. Maybe you can check more HIV/AIDS blogs and inspirational stories at positivepal.com. The STD counselor on the site will give you some advice about how to control it with drug.
BAM etc

AIDS, cock and tail all in the same sentence. LOL
You win most retarded comment on the internet today. Your Mom would be proud.
not exactly true my friend, you can get peptides through the skin transdermally, but 5 grams that is pretty stout.
Merry Christmas all
