should take ALL the sugar out ,not just cut ,then safe for diabetics if want sweetened use stevia ,only ,,but is strong use very sparingly, the only safe artificial sweetner .
can take all the sugar out, still not healthy. the only healthy part of these cereals are the 3 vitamins they grind up and stuff in each box so they have something to put on the nutrition side.haven't touched a bowl of sugar coated sugar aka cereal in 5 years!
Oh wow, I have gotten about 3 or 4 different samples from major brands. It is not difficult to find them. Search online for "123 Get Samples" you can find them easily.
Health does not have a damn thing to do with the equation! Cost of sugar! Corporate bottom line, PROFIT!!! If the company is worried about the cost of ingredients that shows they know they will be a spike in the cost. The rest of us will get to read about it in the next month or two.
Sugar isn't the problem. It's the titanium dioxide and the dirutribuliminadrolyzed hydrocarbonolatumneutrivenousbilbatorstic megasteroidalchlorates and the polymutated dioxygenated glutobiniolsicmenstaspitz that are the problem!
I am a chemist and your answer really struck my funny bone!
If you look at the serving size on every box you will see that some use one cup and some use 3/4 cup. That is to drive the stats where they want them and not use a level playing field. The FDA (if they cared) would standardize the serving size for cereal stats and the comsumer wouldn't be fooled by the misleading way the companies display the nutrtition on the side of the box.
I look at the serving size now before I look at the calories and sugar content. If the box has 3/4 cup for the serving size I don't care what else it says, I put it back on the shelf. They tried to screw me on that nutrition statement and I ain't buying their product. I vote with my wallet, it is the only effective way there is.
Maple12string is right! Sugar prices (in the USA) are at an all-time high. That's the reason for the reduction in sugar content, not some vaguely "patriotic" cause such as helping in the fight on childhood obesity.

It is a dark day indeed in cereal land. I'm 50 and I still buy Cap'n Crunch, Trix and Lucky Charms. Sugar is GOOD! Long live the sugar!
I buy McDonalds Happy Meals too. :-) Except in San Francisco where they won't let me. :-(

Eff the sugar, try eliminating MSG from the product.
Oh, well, thank goodness they are fat and cholesterol free. Do they really take us for that stupid to interpret that as making these things healthy?!?

Absolutely right! I can't imagine anyone considering 3/4 cup of cereal to be a serving. The food label laws obviously have gaping loopholes.
Nooooooooo!!!!!!
Sigh. In all seriousness, it probably needed done.
Yeah. Notice, no mention of reduced calories. This is a chemical"fix."
