Maybe if there was less of an anti-science mentality in this country, our education would be better and we'd be more economically competitive and there'd be less poverty.
Why is it with some people that anything studied is a waste of time and money? As if scientist are able to only study one thing at a time. Why don't you spend your money feeding the poor instead of wasting it on the internet?
Lets see, no amygdala, (why does the spell-checker flag this?), no fear, a large amygdala, good social skills. What about shyness and other social phobias? Logic would suggest fear = a functioning amygdala. Does this mean a large amygdala = less fear?
This is a FABULOUS study. As an educator this gives great insight into social skills and how children learn in groups and how people perceive information. We are not all the SAME, and this is a step in the right direction to LEARN more about brain activity and BEHAVIOR.
I am a social butterfly and have many friends. I have been mis-understood all my life for not FOCUSING and being scattered. But, I am very capable of multi-tasking and maintaining a large social network of friends and family. I love large groups of people around, but am fine for days on end by myself. I have no problem going to the movies, out to dinner alone, or going to huge social gatherings.
Thank you for this. I am anxious to learn more about other social butterfly's in my class, and myself.
How much money was spent on this study that could have been better spent on helping the poor?

I don't have a problem with the study. I have a problem with the article, it was poorly written. I was hoping for more information on this study.
