The more and more I hear about stem cells, the better the research sounds. What could they do with some funding, say instead of pumping it into a worthless war? Cure cancer?

As a balding middle aged dude I'm not sure about this. I've finally come to grips with losing my hair and now there might soon be a cure? Who am I kidding they haven't really done anything amazing with stem cell research yet. Cures don't bring in the cash, treatment does. If they could grow my hair back with one $1000 shot in the arm then what's in it for them? Cure cancer with a $30 pill? The Polio vaccine was some amazing suff but did it make a company rich? Is it still even given to people? My guess is when I am 85 I'll be able to grow a full head of hair but what's the point then. Really old people with all their own thick hair look out of place anyway! ;) Old men are supposed to be bald or at least thinning, well that's what i tell myself.

Five years ago the top of my head was completely slick. Being bald didn't mean anything to me, I'm 62 now. So, who cares. Anyway three years ago I started an exercise regimen and also started using supplements. None of the wacko heavy duty stuff, but things I could get anywhere. Turmeric, red yeast rice, oregano, cinnamon and things of that sort. I also use DHEA, 100 25 mg capsules for $3.99, 50 mg a day. My head is not slick anymore. I still look bald but there are hundreds of hairs gowing all over the top of my head. Take it for what you will but something is making my hair grow back. I still don't care about being bald but this is intriguing.

I personally think a full head of hair will go a long way on justifying the murder of innocents. I mean its important to have a high self esteem in these matters.

I learned the price value of my ego when I went to Hair Club for men about 10 years ago and discovered that for between 12 and 20 Grand I could get back approximately 70% of my orginal hair. Needless to say I didn't do it. I've contented myself with looking like a "scrotum head" for the rest of my life and have warned everyone not to make condescending remarks about "bald is sexy" as I will respond violently.
