Then don't be a poor minority...sheesh do we have to tell some people everything.
Theres too much socialism in this country already for us to be worrying about someone elses kid dying becasue they don't have access to decent healthcare...just don't be poor and you'll be fine under BonerCare
That's right.......I say we need to eliminate all SOCIALISM by starting with eliminating ALL police and fire departments.....after all why should I be forced to pay to protect your mother, sister, daughter or sniveling little brat....if they're too small or old or too stupid to fight back they deserve to die! BonerCare all the way!
yep-bust your ass to get a job or serve our country in our military. This is the land of opportunity-if you put in the work.
otherwise, continue to be poor and cry about your status and continue to rot on the streets or keep sucking from the nipple...only until the glorious day we cut you off.
unfortunately it isn't a problem in Connecticut all the high crime gang areas are blocks away from Hospitals especially Yale. So they get that top notch care to return to the streets and kill more people.
with new healthcare we will also be paying their bills not that we are not right now, no job means we paying it already.
Well it sound like they'd better raise taxes on the working class to remedy that.... I mean after all isn't the solution for everything that the minorities and poor lack????
NO, THEY SHOULDN'T. This shouldn't be the land of handouts and bottom-feeders. Be LEGALLY in America, go to school or learn a trade, and bust your ass to get a job-and you'll have healthcare. Or be smart and serve our country in the military and you'll be fine. Why should my family have to pay for fux that don't want to help themselves, only cry about their status...Our economy is based on capitalism-and people who work and bust their ass to make their money shouldn't be penalized for being successful.
"Vulnerable patients may lack access to trauma care". What a clever and eye-opening headline. Duh.
Most of us who are 65+ Baby Boomers have been forced to 'retire' and must rely on Medicare. Of course, not all doctors, clinics and certainly not all hospitals like the reimbursement rate Medicare provides, so we either pay through the nose for private health care insurance and/or head for the ER when a visit to a doctor's office would have been more efficient and cost effective.
Can't wait to see the health care plan the Republicans come up - it will probably be much like their 1990 plan which coincidentally looked a lot like the one just passed which they now want to repeal. Go figure.
This is the land of opportunity. IF you put in the blood, sweat, and tears to bust your ass and go to school or learn a trade-you'll get a job. You have to fight for what you want. This shouldn't be the land of hand-outs and bottom feeders who spend all our gov't assistance and aid on drugs, alcohol, and other miscellaneous things things instead of fighting to turn their lives around and get off of federal aid. That was it's purpose in the beginning-to assist for x amount of time until people get back on track. Now it's a way of life. Bust your ass, get a job, and you'll have healthcare. Otherwise suffer. Why should my family have to pay for people who don't even want to help themselves. That's bull@!$%#.
Not every poor person is poor due to not working hard. My mother worked hard her entire life, but became ill and spent most of a year in the hospital. Unable to return to work and completely disabled with no income. Her savings dried up pretty quickly with paying the regular bills and now medical bills (and she actually had insurance).
And hey, here's a news flash. Bet you didn't know that there are military families who live on food stamps. How about them? Bottom feeders?
Yeah, you go on and continue to live in ignorance. But the people of America will NOT simply roll over and die for your convenience.
This study points out the obvious without any good attempt to put it in some context. Are hospitals moving away from poorer communities? Why would that occur? Are level 1 trauma centers usually affiliated with universities which may have a richer community around them?

Poor minorities lack a lot of health care in comparison to the opposite. That is why our health care system is in need of reform!
