Just because most people don' have to worry about being attacked by a wild animal any more is no reason not to be aware of your environment. Just last night I saw a news clip: someone in PA is sueing a mall because she fell into a fountain while she was walking along and texting. She didn't see it, walked right into it, and the security guards posted the footage and their comments on the internet!  Do you know what she is upset about? Not that she wasn't paying attention and fell into a fountain, thus endangering her life...Because she was 'made a laughing stock' because of the internet post!  Wake up people! 

Good riddance, hope they fall in the Ocean. In New York you cannot even walk down the street and admire the sights and I am sick of it, you have to duck and dodge these mindless text Zombies crashing headlong into you and ASK YOU TO, "WATCH WHERE YOU ARE GOING". They will not look up, will walk in front of cars, buses, etc because they have to finish their text. It's impossible to fine all of them but Police should at least tell them to pay attention to their surroundings. At nighttime on dark streets you could end up a mugger, rapist, robber, killer's dream.

There's this old theorum about survival of the fittest, the stupid will weed
themselves out automatically. It's just too bad that the rest of us have to pay
extra on our insurance premiums because the stupid don't have to take
responsibility for their actions.

Forgive my insensitivity but walking, crossing the street, riding a bicycle or Segway or whatever while texting is highly deserving of the Darwin Award.

Aren't most people taught to watch where they are going even BEFORE they attend Kindergarden? Sounds like an important lesson.
