You guys that wrote this stupid sh t really must be running out of things to write about This is funy as hell almost as funny as somone writing the article
Funded by D.U.H. (Department of Unimpressive Hypotheses), Lead researcher was Dr. Nohshtz Shurloch, with his assistant Wheytogo Einstein....
It was a followup paper to their classic "Repeated Hammer blows to the head: Not as fun as you might think" and "Conclusive evidence that Lions react negatively to testicular squeezing" - published posthumously.
Whats better than your wife bringing home another woman or 2. Bringing home Rich women! Yea that's what I'm talking about. A Smart wives is definitely better than no wife. I have my own trickle down theory....
DUH! of course the guys results are higher. We are thinking that just maybe, we will get to hook up too and rock a threesome. Yes, most guys are pigs...deal with it.
There's also the likelihood that the "other woman" that the female in the relationship cheated with is bi, and that the "other man" that the male in the relationship cheated with is strictly homosexual, so her chance to rock a threesome is pretty nil. Hence, no value added in forgiveness.
Why are you assuming the likelihood the female "other" is more likely to be bisexual than the male "other?" Seems either like wishful thinking, or perhaps a disavowal of the fluidity of sexual preference, orientation, or experimentation for both genders.
What the research did say, which was of interest and along the same lines as your assumption, is that women are more likely to feel the threat of abandonment if their male partner cheats with another male. Are you asserting that that specific fear exists because the reality of a homosexual male "other" means there are less hopes of keeping the male partner in the relationship?
"DUH! of course the guys results are higher. We are thinking that just maybe, we will get to hook up too and rock a threesome. Yes, most guys are pigs...deal with it."
Yeah, Most women are sluts too, they just don't get caught as often.
Women cheat more often, but they do so sequentially, i.e. sleeping with Man A before dumping Man B. Makes sense, sort of, test driving the new model before trading in. Us men are simultaneous cheaters; we want our cake and we want to fukc it's brains out too. Just an eons old evolutionary imperative. It is why there are more "mothers" than "fathers"; about 20% of the men out there are responsible for about 80% of impregnation.
Why are you assuming the likelihood the female "other" is more likely to be bisexual than the male "other?"
Probably b/c most men aren't going to want a threesome where the 3rd party is a bisexual male who will then want to boink their wife? B/c then there's the added complication of the "paternity" assertation to fret over. And, well, men are possessive like that. They can have affairs, but they cry like babies when the wife does it & as the study showed, are more apt to get to steppin' b/c they're not incl & sulking.
And really, is it considered presenting a manly hunter-gatherer facade to the wife when a man is bent over, um, enjoying himself while she looks at it in repulsion? Or, if it's the other way around, thinking eeeeuuuuwwww you're never putting that in me again now that you've had it up there? Or thinking pffft don't think you're ever putting it up there on me, mister?
Men's pet fantasy may be a threesome w/ 2 bisexual girls, but women's fantasies usually do not incl wanting a threesome w/ 2 bisexual men. Hello, attn all here, not on ea other kind of thing. If a woman is going to get into bed w/ 2 men then they best well be planning on working nonstop to give her pleasure.
But men will hope & pray that the other woman is bisexual so that they get 2 boinks for the price of one at the end. For some reason men are content to think mostly watching is going to be fun. Maybe it's the porn filter. A man would never admit to feeling left out & ignored for most of it, as long as he gets his 2 boinks in. A woman would be going HEY! When is it MY turn? the whole time. I guarantee it.
While I don't necessarily agree with everything you wrote, I have to wholeheartedly agree with the 'ick' factor, of imagining just WHERE he might have put that thing...
Well, I wouldn't "end" the relationship right off the bat. After an event like that I'd hang out for the kinky sex, hope for a 3-way (if the friend was hot), string the relationship along and then move on. Basically have fun with it as long as I could. I could never be serious or create long term plans with a woman like that who didn't know who she was or what she wanted in life.
You're just as wrong for making another all-encompassing, blanketed statement.
No, I said that they were just like any other person; which is correct. Maybe you need to re-read my comment. They are not mythical creatures that are magically different than heterosexuals; they are human, and as such have human tendencies.
Andrew, your comment was re-read. So you think there are no bisexuals that exist who are confused about who they are and what they want in life? Why don't you believe they are human with human tendencies? I think you believe they are mythical creatures.
Although you are clearly trolling, I'll spell it out for you.
Bisexuals know exactly who they are and what they want in life, just as much as any other person.
Do you see the bolded text in my quote? That says that bisexuals know what they want to the same degree that anybody else is sure of what they want. It says that bisexuality has no effect on how much they know who they are and what they want.
You, on the other hand, are claiming that due only to the fact that they are bisexual means that they are confused about what they want in life. That is false; bisexuality has nothing to do with indecisiveness.
Bisexuality has to do with who they are sexually attracted to.
Andrew, since you are clearly trolling (yes, it is my original post = you are the troll), I'll help you fill in the blanks.
I will admit the original post wasn't exactly clear. It is assuming I was in the relationship unware the woman was attracted to other women. The article is about being cheated on. Since I wouldn't be in a relationship with someone who was bi, the revelation would come as a surprise either because of her own confusion or purposeful deception.
That is a preference... like I don't like someones laugh, or their hair, or other habits, etc. Not that I feel the person is any less valid in society.
It is assuming I was in the relationship unware the woman was attracted to other women. The article is about being cheated on.
At the same time, heterosexual women are attracted to other men. Is it worse if your girlfriend cheats with another woman than if she cheats with another man?
Since I wouldn't be in a relationship with someone who was bi, the revelation would come as a surprise either because of her own confusion or purposeful deception.
How exactly is it her confusion or deception for her to be bi? Perhaps it is your deception for not telling her that you are strongly against bisexuals, since you are the one in the relationship uncomfortable with it; since she would be bisexual that is not a huge deal, since that is how she is. Should heterosexual women preface a relationship that they are attracted to other men?
You are still suggesting that bisexuality is a confusion or lack of commitment to a particular sexual preference. It is biologically who they are.
Andrew, since you are clearly trolling (yes, it is my original post = you are the troll), I'll help you fill in the blanks
So we start with you not understanding what bisexuality is, to now you showing that not only do you not understand what "trolling" is, you display that you do not understand how to apply and follow logic. Your original post =/= my post being a troll.
If you are purposefully misreading my posts to mess around then your posts = trolling. If you simply do not understand my posts, well then that is a whole other issue: reading comprehension.
Based on your current history in this sub-thread, you will twist my post like the entirety of post #3.13, and the first sentence of #3.15. Of course, there is a decent chance that you won't, specifically because I pointed it out, and perhaps say something snarky along the lines of "see, I didn't 'twist' your words. Guess you were wrong LOL"
No kidding. Back in uni, I had two classes with a GF and in those classes could find two or three girls I wouldn't mind her "cheating" with. I mean come on, all this study does is confirm something most men dreamt of since junior high.
I'll do a study and I'll come to any conclusion you pay me to come to. But, this is where the government can save a ton of money. There is no reason for the the taxpayers to be paying for any surveys, other than the Constitutionally mandated 10 years census. If some individual or other entity feels they are rich enough, or have certain benefits to be gained by such a survey, then let them spend money on it.
Oh, and guys, better watch out. This definitely gives new meaning to "odd man out!"
Yes, witchrunner, you can do a study that comes to whatever conclusion you want. If, however, your conclusion is not supported by the data, you will find it difficult to get your study published in a peer-reviewed journal.
I'd bet a lot of money that you haven't even read the peer-reviewed journal article. You read a NEWS report. If you haven't read the actual paper, then you don't know what their methodology was and you are certainly in no position to critique it.
laura-1997377 :...would you have sex with a man for HER viewing pleasure?...
Considering your intelligent response I think I should date you. Do you know how to handle a fork and knife at a dinner table? Most fellow USA's don't.
1st: She hasn't asked! I assume if she wanted me to, she would have asked.
2nd: She's into women. She would totally be willing to have sex with one if she was single.
3rd: I never said I had to watch! Just knowing it happened would be awesome enough. Heck, she could just make it up and I'd be happy! I'm a very simple beast, I am.
laura-1997377 wrote "would you have sex with a man for HER viewing pleasure?"
There is a primary difference, and women articulate this over and over : women primarily fear an emotional involvement with another party. Affairs divert expected cash, and there is little more irritating for a woman than to realize that she does not have control over all of the cash flow.
ya know funny story. my guy doesnt seem to have a problem with me cheating with a guy but he is terrified of the very idea of me hooking up with another girl even if he gets to watch/ be involved. so this "study" doesnt cover all of the men in this country. any ideas to get him on the boat with this? lol.
This was all hypothetical and I don't believe anyone knows what they would do until put in that situation. If your hearts really in the relationship your actual reaction probably wouldn't be what you might have thought you would do.
My wife is real hot. At times I wonder how she fell in love with me. She tells me she gives me permission to have an affair with another women, as long as I give her permission to have an affair with another guy. Then she say "who do you think will get laid first".
If you two made a bet, she has already won. How difficult is it for a woman to get laid, unless she is butt ugly. But, at closing time, she still has a pretty good chance, even if she is butt ugly.
No Jack, skeptic is probably referring to the fact that most hot "girl on girl" college heavy petting sessions are performed in front of guys, for the attention of the guys......and are not "homosexual" at all.
That, and I don't considering "scissoring" sex. (hahaha)
I didn't say they were homosexual, but they were stating that having sex with another woman was not homosexual. If you have sex with a similar gendered person, then you are doing a homosexual thing, but, you are a bisexual from that point on.
When I get pissed at my husband I tell him I want a divorce and I'm not going to date any guys...I'm going lesbian. Then I tell him, "And, NO, you can't watch!" LOL Always ends the argument.
My ex-husband loves it when I hang out with certain girl friends, especially one who gets rather affectionate when she has too much to drink...he BEGS me to take pictures if "anything" happens between us...
This is stupidly sexist and homophobic. This is what prompts those fake bisexual women. "Oh, I sleep with women because my boyfriend likes it."
This is an insult to real bisexual people- most of which actually have only ONE partner at a time.
The real insult is men thinking that they might get invited to hot girl on girl action. Because obviously that's why your girl would cheat on you with a girl. For the sake of you seeing two women go at it and invite you in- not a thought that the other woman might be gay and totally against having sex with a man.
As a bisexual woman in a long term relationship with a bisexual woman (NO we do NOT invite other people into our bed) I find society disgusting as a whole for this ridiculous point of view being perfectly acceptable but GOD FORBID a man cheats on his girlfriend with a guy. Never occurs to a girl that a guy might be bisexual in fact it's just down right wrong to most people.
It's okay for a woman to like women- because it's always hot, and she's always willing to get with guy too. But a man can't like men unless he's a total fruit. So very very close-minded and sexist and this is what we constantly perpetuate as "ok" in our society.
My ex-wife was a switch hitter. Yes, I did live the fantasy of having her and her girl friend at the same time and enjoyed it totally. Would I have acted the same if she had a boy friend at the same time we were married...NO. My 1 rule during our marriage is that I did not care if she had a girl friend as long as I knew her. I did not have to be a part of their "dates" however occasionally it was a very nice plus. And, no, this is not the reason that we ended up splitting up.
I don't think anyone posting here is taking this article very seriously. You're probably right in your assessment of society, but we all know that MSNBC just posted this article because it's a titillating that will cause people to hang out on their site a little longer on a cold, grey, January day.
@ Zeke - Nice assessment of society, I think you're spot on. I'm not sure I agree that is what this article was about, though a cursory glance at the sexist and objectifying comments on this page, certainly prove your point. There's a book called Female Chauvinist Pigs: Women and the Rise of Raunch Culture that speaks to the phenomenon of women who engage in same-sex sexual interactions to incite arousal (either in person or later via storytelling) in men and ensure a higher ranking in their male peers' eyes.
As a bisexual woman what are your feelings of a man having sex with another man?
While my wife has entertained the thoughts of another woman I truly felt threatened that the "other" woman might actually do better than i or again that I may not be invited...woman know what women like.
Huh..so as a man it's sexist for me to find lesbians potentially tantalizing while abhorring male homosexuals. Sorry, it's nature. Dudes-doing-dudes doesn't appeal to most men. It's not an "equal" view of how homosexuality should be considered, but meh, it's not derogatory (again, sorry, I'm not whacking off over homo porn).
There are couples that invite another party (male or female) simply to enhance their sexual experience outside of just being pigs. There are serious 3rd party relationships out there, believe it or not, and there are some people out there that enjoy introducing a third person kind of like introducing a vibrator, and those who enjoy a third person other alternative lifestyles like cuckolding and other forms of BDSM.
I would never call myself bisexual even though I'd have sex with a woman and enjoy, because I would never pursue a serious relationship with her.
Personally, I'd be upset with my partner if he cheated with a man, but that would be because he didn't bring me along to watch! :p
The answer is pretty simple. 1) Most people are straight. 2) Straight men generally dont feel threatened by another woman - its the whole 'alpha male' thing. 3) if your mascalinity isnt being threatend, your a lot more willing to go with the flow.
With that being said- men like women - they like the idea of women with women, it arouses them - and yes- even though its unrealistic - men like the idea they can get in on that.
Its a man vs woman thing. Men as a whole think we are awsome. Why do you think that there are so many crap men that have zero problem asking out the super-hot girl who is clearly out of thier leauge. Men think we are in everyone's leauge. Women, dont think that way generally speaking.
So yes, the guy is dreaming, but generally they feel that they could possibly have a chance. If your offended by that, honestly, im sorry - but get thicker skin - its not about you. Nothing was directed at you, just because you classify yourself in that same category, doesnt mean its related to you.
Nothing is more amussing than reading what someone has to say when they are a) opinionated and b) have a chip on their shoulder.
First of all, this was a survey regarding a hypothetical situation. Both the men and women surveyed gave their gut/instinctive reaction/response of how they would handle the situation or what their proper reaction should be. But in terms of a real life situation, people don't always react the way they think they would because of other emotions they would feel at that time. When they were asked the question, there was no rage, disgust, anger or any other emotions at work; just the thought process. In a real life situation with house, cars, kids, etc., where emotions would also be present and high, it's hard to say how someone might react to that situation.
So let's ask a heterosexual man the true questions of the situation:
Would you be shocked to find your wife in bed with another woman? Yes. That would be a natural reaction.
Would you be aroused seeing your wife in bed with another woman? Yes. I'm a man stupid!
Would you divorce her because of this? Don't know. Depends on why she's doing this.
Would you walk out and leave them alone? Don't know.
Would you ask to join in? Don't know. But the thought would most likely cross my mind.
Would you tell the other woman to leave? Don't know.
If the other woman asked you to leave, would you? I'd tell her to go @!#$ herself and get out.
If the other woman asked you to join iin, would you? Most likely, yes.
If your wife asked you to join in, would you? Most likely, yes.
If your wife asked you to leave, would you? Don't know. I'd be angry if she did.
Then are are a raft of after the incident questions that I can think of but we need not go into those. My point is, men are men and they have certain ingrained charchteristics/urges that they can either supress or act upon. We are what we are. I understand the point about a bisexual person being in a commited relationship with either a man or a woman; that's easy to understand. But bisexual or not, we're also talking about someone that is cheating on someone else. If I walked in on my wife and another woman, do you honestly think I would stop to ask if the other woman is gay, bisexual, or just experimenting? I'd more than likely ask those questions of my wife if I asked them at all! And if you were that bisexual woman having an affair with my wife, aren't you just as much of a scumbag as any man doing the same thing? Cheating is cheating regardless of the sex or sexual orientation of those involved.
@Zeke, cheating is cheating no matter who it's with but it would be worse to me if my partner cheated with someone who has something I don't and never will, namely a penis. I refuse to compete with that.
Zeke - wrong. It's standard animal instinct. Not sexist or homophobic. Did you take biology at all? how about sociology or even psychology? Or are you just another hippie with hurt feelings over spilled milk
Cheating is wrong- with this I agree. My annoyance is that this article doesn't help break the cycle of what's viewed as wrong and what's okay. "All cheating is wrong- unless it's two women, then it's just hot and its obviously about me." is something we teach our sons- in all form of entertainment.
waveriderj: Yes, actually I did take psychology, and biology, and sociology. It's only standard animal instinct in some species.
RickQ: My point was simply that it's very very bothersome to me that we perpetuate the idea that cheating is ok if its a woman cheating on her guy with a woman. Again, I thing cheating is wrong in all situations.
hi hi hi: I'm well aware of this- very well aware of it. It's far more annoying to me that even in the gay community people assume a bisexual is all about all the sex they can get and it doesn't matter from where. It's even strongly portrayed this way in movies and television as a humor factor. I have no problem with relationships with more people. My wife and I also have some things of 'deviant' nature in our sexual lives. My annoyance with this is far more that no one even brings up the point for men or women to consider before they decide they should be invited to join/watch.
Junichiro Yakazama: Actually, let me ask you this a different way- When you watch porn, do you want the guy in it to be small and kinda limp- or do you like a guy with a big ol' hard pipi slamming it into the woman? BTW, lesbian porn is also homo porn. You proved my point and disproved yourself. Your homophobic.
jerry-2991944: Bisexual is simply the most widely recognized term that's close to what I am (and my wife is). I actually consider myself a pan-sexual, mean I'm attracted to the person not the gender. However, to answer your question- I find two men equally as attractive as two women, assuming I find both of them attractive in the first place. Also- I find most hetero-men feel the same way as you (threatened by the thought the other female may know his woman better). Though I question if it's actually the majority, but an unexceptable and 'unmanly' thing to admit by most standards (to be clear, I find it far more manly to admit how one truly feels about it- honesty used to be the masculine thing to do). Hetero women however, from what I've noticed, usually feel more betrayed and embarrassed than threatened. They find (from my understanding) something new about their man that they were unable to satisfy simply because they didn't know. Mostly because society tells me it's NOT okay to talk about any 'homo' feelings they might have.
Are you saying the article or some of the comments posted here are sexist and homophobic?
While I can understand your expressions of distaste and concern over societal viewpoints in general, I think you may be over analyzing the article itself.
To be fair, I think there are quite a few commentators who are reading what they want to read as opposed to what the article is.
This article is a study, while there is speculation regarding why the results are what they are, there is no real causative analysis. There is no "A" and "B" happen therefore you always get "C."
I suppose you can say like Zeke, I am pan-sexual. While I have a higher preference for men, I am open to the possibility that I may come across a woman who I find myself absolutely drawn to because of who she is as opposed to what gender she is (hasn't happened, but I am open to it.) I am a big supporter of LGBT (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders) and always have been. Yet, I find no fault in the article itself.
Also, one must consider the lead author is an Evolutionary Psychology PhD candidate. For those unfamiliar with Evolutionary Psychology, the overall idea of this field of study is that the base instinct of man is to spread his seed and have strong offspring to carry on his lineage while the base instinct of woman is to find a man who can best provide for her and her offspring. While this explanation is in it's simplest form, this is what fuels the theories of an Evolutionary Psychologist.
That said, this is the reason for their analysis on the situation. If all men run purely on their instinctual psyche, they would not be threatened by a female because of course a female cannot challenge them in offspring creation; therefore, they will continue to be the sole offspring producer with their mate and there will be no challenging male who can step in and claim the female is carrying his offspring instead (disrupting his ability to ensure he produces strong genetic heirs.) If we continue with that, as mentioned in the article, perhaps they also do see it as an opportunity to lay with more than one female and produce more offspring. (Not saying this is realistic or what the 50% of men were really thinking, just taking it from the Evolutionary Psychology viewpoint.) As for women, since their need is for provision, regardless of whether their "provider" is cheating on them with a male or female is not relevant. The main focus is that their "provider" may be "stolen" from them, by who is not an issue (which is why the percentages were so close.)
Again, the article is a study with an Evolutionary Psychological analysis. They're not saying it is fact, only showing what they speculate. There is no bias for lesbian over gay relationships and there is no promotion for women engaging in sexual acts with other women in order to appeal to men. Any of these such inferences are purely made by commentators reading into the article.
Also, in response to BoBo the Clown, I'd hate to burst your bubble, but there is another study which show that the majority of people are not purely heterosexual. While many people do categorize themselves as such, if one takes the exact meaning of the term they'll find they're not.
Think of it as a scale, on one side you have heterosexuality, which is you absolutely 100% are attracted to a member of the opposite sex and never ever have looked to a member of the same sex in any sort of "appreciative" manner. Likewise, on the opposite end of the scale is homosexuality in which you are 100% attracted to a member of the same sex and never ever have looked to a member of the opposite sex in any sort of "appreciative" manner. Then, you have all the percentages in between.
Things in this world are rarely, if ever, so black and white or absolute. While one may lean towards a particular side of the scale, it is very very rare someone is 100% (despite what the claim.) This is why such things like "girl-crushes" or "man-crushes" occur. For example, while you would never ever at any point in your life engage in sexual conduct with a person of the same gender...you can't help but appreciate say Angelina Jolie's lips or the lean physic of Jake Gyllenhaal as a result of an inspiring work out regiment.
This is a concept many have a hard time accepting...especially those with homophobic tenancies...but it's one to consider. Are you truly 100% or are you 90/10, 70/30...or maybe 30/70, 10/90?
Wow! Some men are such disgusting pigs! If you're so disgustingly horny and turned on by your girlfriend or wife being sexual with another woman, and you want to participate, then you don't deserve a woman at all. I understand fantasies, but come on.... It makes me nauseous that people could be like that!! I would be pissed if my boyfriend cheated on me with a woman or a man. Cheating should never be okay, and if you (being a man OR a woman) get turned on by your boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/husband having sex with someone of the same (or even different) sex, you need help, because you are a sick person.
If your screenname is any indication of your age, then you are not sexually mature enough yet to participate in this discussion. Sexual fantasy and experimentation are for adults, not teenagers.
Sexual fantasy and experimentation are for adults, not teenagers.
What planet are you from? Being a teenager was when the fantasy and wanting to experiment hit full swing! I wanted to make out with nearly all my attractive junior high school teachers.
P.S. Is your screename any indication that you think you are pure? haha, not so nice to be judged based on a screename huh!!
It's okay for people to think you're dumb, but not so much if you open your mouth and confirm it....If you're under 30, don't talk so much until you've put some mileage into life....love is neither so definite nor so dry....
I praise you very much young one, unlike most of the so called "adults" that are criticizing you for being correct. Cheating is cheating no matter with whom it's being done with. It's not so much that men want to participate it's their moronic ego which sucks anyway especially now a days. They're so concerned that they don't batter up to the next guy that they know that a woman being with another woman , there won't be any comparisons. A confident man who knows what he's doing, never makes exceptions and their women won't be out seeking another woman to satisfy her.
@GoToHell, Oh Good God, grow up. Nobody here is criticizing so much as tell her "hey, you know, you're a human, an animal, just like the rest of us. And guess what? Animals want things that are forbidden."
Being prude and rude killed off so much sexuality.
If your screenname is any indication of your age, then you are not sexually mature enough yet to participate in this discussion. Sexual fantasy and experimentation are for adults, not teenagers.
Which of course is why this scientific study was done w/ college-age ppl, half of which are teenagers LOL Get a grip.
Defying Teenage Stereotypes wrote "Wow! Some men are such disgusting pigs! If you're so disgustingly horny and turned on by your girlfriend or wife being sexual with another woman ..."
If men were not manipulated by arousal responses to female sexuality, women would have to do more manual labor, work more hours and invent more. As it is, women use T&A to get men to do the majority of cilivization for them. Imagine women having to pay man for sex, which is what dating is all about.
While I agree with you in the sense that it's not for me, I know several couples who are "swingers" and use multiple parties; and they have very happy and fulfilling marriages. I guess it's just one of those if the shoe fits sorta things.
If its consensual, its not cheating. Cheating indicates the other party in the relationship is unaware and/or has not consented to their party engaging with a third party. Swingers and open relationships are a different scenario.
Its problematic in any relationship when there is cheating, regardless of which spouse is stepping out and whether it is a hetero- or homosexual affair.
What has this world come too. All Cheating is wrong no matter what. In fact this is worse because she is cheating with another woman. Where are the real men out there protecting their wives and their families. MSNBC is constantly trying to push their "anything goes society" down our throats. None of you men would be truly happy if your wife did that and from what it sounds like you would only use and abuse the situation for your own selfishness. In the end it would never work out.
I don't think it is MSNBC or any other media outlet pushing it, I think it has always existed, ony now people talk about it....cheating has ALWAYS existed, as has homosexuality, adultery, pedophiles ( although hundreds of years ago it was an accpeted part of society to marry young)...yes cheating is always wrong in my book, and I think that you truly do not know how you would react to find out a spouse was cheating...for me personally, I was heartbroken to find out my husband cheated, and I did try to work past it, when if you had asked me, I would have said that cheating equals the end of the relationship, no ifs, ands or butts...
Oh yes. This. Of all things. This. This is the one reason why our country is in SUCH HUGE TROUBLE! This. One. Facet. Of. Human. Sexuality. This.
Get real, people have been cheating forever.
Last generation, it was communists and nuclear missiles. This generations, it's socialism and little brown terrorists. Conservative prudes need to quit imposing so much.
I am firmly against cheating on my wife; I have several mistresses, some of whom who have bore bastard children, and if my wife ever cheated on me she would be divorced and stigmatized by society.
Well said and you are exactly right...Society is definitely a "Biyatch" when it comes to this and about everything else... But I must also say...I take it you are not "hot"? (as in "lipstick"?)....I ask not to be a jerk (although I surely can be one, and enjoy it sometimes) but because you seem a little bitter, and it is the same type of bitterness I see in my office, or in a restaurant / bar from "average" women when a "hot" girl comes in or walks by, and gets attention from other women. Just curious if it is a littl of that.
Yeah, but this study only bothered to survey the sexually immature. 718 college guys.......not a good survey and a little insulting to men if you ask me.
Women love consuming media that portray women as the genius and men as little more than dogs. These negative portrayals of men are used by advertisers to lure women into purchasing a particular brand of consumer item.
So, why is sexual maturity defined in female terms? Let's define women that expect an emotional relationship or a flow of cash and items from a man in exchange for sex to be immature and insecure about their sexuality.
Well isn't that a load of BS for ya??? Men are less likely to stay with their mate for cheating with another man says a lot about men in general...Men can't fathom the idea of another man being in "that spot" that's supposed to be sacred/privy to them...But they(men) can sleep around as much as possible and it's okay and they get props for doing so???? But you have to wonder, what lady in her "RIGHT" mind wants a "USED-UP-WORN-OUT-ASS" dick????? That has been IN some of "EVERYBODY?"
SOCIETY should swallow it's "double-edge" sword, and I hope that it cuts deep...
You guys that wrote this stupid sh t really must be running out of things to write about This is funy as hell almost as funny as somone writing the article
The headline should have read "University of Texas study confirms findings previously reported in both Penthouse and Hustler."
Show us your tits.
I like the part of the "study" where they say : "Imagine you are in a long term relationship."
How would a 20 year old college kid do that? Oh, I guess using their imagination.
Real scientific, this imaginary "Study".
Who the heck paid for this study? Oh yeah there is no fed waste this is a valuable use of tax dollars...
Strangely enough the study was paid for by a grant from the Ben Roethlesberger Foundation.
Ohhhhh NICE!!!!!!!!!!
I would ammend that headline to say as long as it was with an " attractive " girl. Id be pissed if it was one of those big angry hellhound lezbians .
ARRELL----you forgot about "Studies suggest strong link between drunken driving, automobile accidents".
That is hilarious ARRELL, I almost dropped my drink laughing at the lion one.
Whats better than your wife bringing home another woman or 2. Bringing home Rich women! Yea that's what I'm talking about. A Smart wives is definitely better than no wife. I have my own trickle down theory....
What most men fail to realize is if a woman is really into having sex with another woman she most likely isn't into having sex with men.
DUH! of course the guys results are higher.
@WH53
Duh!!!!, women are less likely to forgive under ANY circumstances. They only remember the bad and never the good moments.
Jahmekan
"DUH! of course the guys results are higher.
It is why there are more "mothers" than "fathers"; about 20% of the men out there are responsible for about 80% of impregnation.
oink oink oink ohhhh yeaaaa!!!
Careful what you ask for. A buddy told his wife it would be ok. A year later she left him for the other woman.
win win situation!
oinc oinc!
@scar:
You did not answer the question. Rather you continued to spew sexist, and uninformed, rhetoric.
@scar
While I don't necessarily agree with everything you wrote, I have to wholeheartedly agree with the 'ick' factor, of imagining just WHERE he might have put that thing...
???
first, since over a third of straights have anal sex, you need to get over yourself.
next, putting "it" in one area that expels waste, or into another area that expels blood and urine...
i mean... both expel bodily fluids that are gross/unappealing.
so, maybe you just need to have sex with people who keep themselves clean and use good hygeine.
I can see you've really thought this one out.. lol.
lol Mark is serious about this stuff. ^
Hilarious!!! But I still think 3-ways are overrated. ;-)
That's disgusting, and pathetic of you.
Bisexuals know exactly who they are and what they want in life, just as much as any other person.
It sounds like you have misconceptions on bisexuality.
Andrew -
You're just as wrong for making another all-encompassing, blanketed statement.
Every woman is bisexual . . . after a certain amount of tequila
You obviously went to a party campus.
Just remember this:
When a man talks dirty its called sexual harassment...
When a woman talks dirty its $2.99 per minute...
oink oink
Usually because she wants to "please her man...." and after enough alcohol I guess it seems like a good idea???? Nuts either way
Sorry Cali, there isn't enough alcohol in the world to make me bisexual.
At the same time, heterosexual women are attracted to other men. Is it worse if your girlfriend cheats with another woman than if she cheats with another man?
How exactly is it her confusion or deception for her to be bi? Perhaps it is your deception for not telling her that you are strongly against bisexuals, since you are the one in the relationship uncomfortable with it; since she would be bisexual that is not a huge deal, since that is how she is. Should heterosexual women preface a relationship that they are attracted to other men?
You are still suggesting that bisexuality is a confusion or lack of commitment to a particular sexual preference. It is biologically who they are.
Guess you were wrong LOL"
it would be bad, or at least embarrassing, if your mom changed her name to Bob Hope.
They actually PAID for this study that is based on COMMON SENSE??!??! That's outrageous.
No, it's not. Lots of "common sense" things turn out to be completely wrong when scientists take a careful look.
Not to mention the fact that this study can hardly be considered "scientific", since they only bothered to interview college age males.
Not even worth a mention.
I keep telling her it's OK but she still won't cheat on me with another woman... :(
got the same problem
would you have sex with a man for HER viewing pleasure?
Hahaha, nice Laura.
Score one for Laura! Thank You!
Considering your intelligent response I think I should date you. Do you know how to handle a fork and knife at a dinner table? Most fellow USA's don't.
Laura -- 3 things
1st: She hasn't asked! I assume if she wanted me to, she would have asked.
2nd: She's into women. She would totally be willing to have sex with one if she was single.
3rd: I never said I had to watch! Just knowing it happened would be awesome enough. Heck, she could just make it up and I'd be happy! I'm a very simple beast, I am.
@MSpielman: you didn't answer Laura's question. It wasn't has your wife asked you to have sex with a man, it was if she asked you to, would you?
How in the world can you forgive a pervert or accept their perverted ways? Even the animals don't act that way!!
laura-1997377 wrote "would you have sex with a man for HER viewing pleasure?"
There is a primary difference, and women articulate this over and over : women primarily fear an emotional involvement with another party. Affairs divert expected cash, and there is little more irritating for a woman than to realize that she does not have control over all of the cash flow.
ya know funny story. my guy doesnt seem to have a problem with me cheating with a guy but he is terrified of the very idea of me hooking up with another girl even if he gets to watch/ be involved. so this "study" doesnt cover all of the men in this country. any ideas to get him on the boat with this? lol.
It must be a really slow news day. Who comes up with this garbage?
UT-Austin
A&M could have done a study but the questions would have had to include farm animals.

If there was an award for the pain-associated laughter caused by these replies, you definitely WON.
THANK YOU.
LOL@!@!@!@
Since this study was on Homosexual behavior, UT would be the most suitable location.
Among other things a liberal UT education doesn't include, is the ability to know which sex to go after. (Hint: Try the opposite sex.)
For that knowledge, you would have to take graduate level courses at a real University.
Luckily, you can find many of those in Texas.
Just not in Austin.
I think it is sponsored by FEDs for study.
This was all hypothetical and I don't believe anyone knows what they would do until put in that situation. If your hearts really in the relationship your actual reaction probably wouldn't be what you might have thought you would do.
You do realize humans fantasize and masturbate...right?
Although a threesome is good fun, a foursome is even more fun. Fore!!
Gives new meaning to "lost ball", "lateral hazard", "hole in one", "birdie", and "putter". Just remember to replace your divots.
Although a threesome is good fun, a foursome is even more fun. Fore!!
I think I will settle for one woman and work on it.
It sounds awfully crowded.
People should never have to settle, The Imperial.
My wife is real hot. At times I wonder how she fell in love with me. She tells me she gives me permission to have an affair with another women, as long as I give her permission to have an affair with another guy. Then she say "who do you think will get laid first".
She sounds like she's pretty smart, too.
Sounds like covert bullying.
She's already having an affair.
That's funny Pat and the first thing I thought when I read his comment, but I'm sure I'm wrong. Women just speak an entirely different language.
If you two made a bet, she has already won. How difficult is it for a woman to get laid, unless she is butt ugly. But, at closing time, she still has a pretty good chance, even if she is butt ugly.
Since when does college girls experimenting count as homosexual?
YES!! Thank you.
Because having sex with another person of the same gender is homosexual. Homo means same, sexual means sexy time.
No Jack, skeptic is probably referring to the fact that most hot "girl on girl" college heavy petting sessions are performed in front of guys, for the attention of the guys......and are not "homosexual" at all.
That, and I don't considering "scissoring" sex. (hahaha)
"Jack-2681120
Because having sex with another person of the same gender is homosexual. Homo means same, sexual means sexy time."
No, committing a homosexual act does not make one a homosexual.
Sexual does not mean "sexy" time. It refers to gender. Homosexual means "same sex".
Being homosexual means that you are attracted to the same sex, whether or not you have ever committed a homosexual act.
I didn't say they were homosexual, but they were stating that having sex with another woman was not homosexual. If you have sex with a similar gendered person, then you are doing a homosexual thing, but, you are a bisexual from that point on.
Sure I could forgive her for it, but with the understanding the next time I want to be there.
Dean you want some of that Italian solammi for yourself as well.
When I get pissed at my husband I tell him I want a divorce and I'm not going to date any guys...I'm going lesbian. Then I tell him, "And, NO, you can't watch!" LOL Always ends the argument.
You tease.
Jess...are you..uh, how do I say this..are you planning that divorce any time soon? hehehe. Just kidding.
Zeke-_stryker, don't worry - I think both scenarios are creepy. I give equal credence to all queers, regardless of sexual preference.
CG39K
Sure buddy...
Zeke,
As a bisexual woman what are your feelings of a man having sex with another man?
While my wife has entertained the thoughts of another woman I truly felt threatened that the "other" woman might actually do better than i or again that I may not be invited...woman know what women like.
for the record I'm Heterosexual.
Zeke,
There are couples that invite another party (male or female) simply to enhance their sexual experience outside of just being pigs.
To reply all at once here:
I hope my wife would cheat on me with another woman, and let me participate...
I am guessing you need a little piece since this really sounds like a sexually frustrated persons rant. Don't knock it till you tried it.........;-)
CG39K - I just spit water thru my nose!!! FUNNY!
CleanHands
What planet are you from? Being a teenager was when the fantasy and wanting to experiment hit full swing! I wanted to make out with nearly all my attractive junior high school teachers.
P.S. Is your screename any indication that you think you are pure? haha, not so nice to be judged based on a screename huh!!
Show us your tits!

Kingpin it goes (o)(o)
Which of course is why this scientific study was done w/ college-age ppl, half of which are teenagers LOL Get a grip.

If men were not manipulated by arousal responses to female sexuality, women would have to do more manual labor, work more hours and invent more. As it is, women use T&A to get men to do the majority of cilivization for them. Imagine women having to pay man for sex, which is what dating is all about.
If a girlfriend or wife is cheating with another woman it's a bad sign for the relationship.

When your wife's girlfriend has a bigger dick than you do, you know you're in trouble.
duh!
How about you stick to your religion and morals, as governed by your god?
Thank you for being a decent Catholic man. Far too little decency is expected of people these days, especially young men. "Cheating" is never okay.
This is news, that guys find Bi-sexual female hot and would forgive them? Must be a really slow news day.
This is why our country is in big time trouble.
..correct...Et Tu Brute ???
Oh yes.
But enough about my life in 15th century Europe.
Just curious if it is a littl of that.
it's very easy to understand men, we spend 9 months trying to get out and then the rest of our lives trying to get back in. =)
TOO FUNNY! But true!
Groucho Marx said this , NOT YOU
No Robin Williams did.
The average American male is so sexually immature that it is truly sad... this survey validates that fact.
Yeah, but this study only bothered to survey the sexually immature. 718 college guys.......not a good survey and a little insulting to men if you ask me.
Yes, I think so too. Most articles in the web are female oriented anyway. You can bet they look for anyway to make men look immature or apelike.
Is Society a really hot chick? If so, can I be the double-edged sword she swallows???
