OMG. stop using plastic hardware. Now they are completely banning drop sides on cribs because of all the recent problems with the hardware breaking. If the CSPC would ban plastic hardware and make the manufacturers go back to the old fashioned metal drop rods they wouldn't have all of these problems. I worked in the industry for many years and until plastic hardware came along I never heard of recalls on cribs. There were many changes made to make the cribs safer over the years, and the idea was with plastic hardware there would be no pinch points. Seems there were probably fewer pinched fingers with the old hardware then there have been more serious incidents with the new & improved junk.
