We are Montana residents, and my son who is a long term diabetic has a terribly painful stomach condition called gastroparesis which is caused from diabetes. It makes him unable to hold down any food or liquids. He has ended up in the emergency room during gastroparesis attacks and was severely dehydrated. The problem was finally solved with medical marijuana tincture, which he was able to use after becoming a registered marijuana patient 1 year ago. The Marijuana tincture is continually effective, while the prescription medication he was on previously had quit working for him. He has not ended up in the ER once this year since becoming a medical marijuana patient, and I am so grateful. My son unfortunately got into some trouble 3 years ago and is on probation. I do hope the state of Nevada for the sake of parolees and probationers down there who are ill, will continue to allow compassionate access to this herbal medicine. I understand the concerns of the authorities about not wanting people to become "high", however when marijuana is used for pain, the THC acts upon the pain itself and does not alter the patients thinking according to my son's doctor, and I agree with the doctor, because I have not seen my son have any side effect of intoxication from marijuana. However, this is probably because he is using it according to his doctor's instructions, as a person should do with any medicine or drug. He knows he needs this natural medicine to prevent the severely painful gastroparesis, and the fact he is on probation makes him extremely careful to use it properly, because he does not want to make a mistake and have his probation officer request his registration as a medical marijuana patient be taken from him. We are unfortunate in Montana, because of the fact a traveling marijuana clinic swept through our state and signed up too many people, and this triggered an anti marijuana activist group to put severe pressure upon our legislature to repeal our medical marijuana act. I am not sure how this will turn out, but it is so sad that one greedy man with a traveling marijuana circus and clinic has injured this program in our state, and may end up injuring people who really are in need of this medicine. I am afraid for my son, because I know how horribly sick he was without it. I would strongly warn all marijuana patients in Nevada, if you should see a traveling or "online" marijuana clinic come into your state, make them leave, immediately, and do not let their opportunism and greed which offends the citizens take your much needed medicine away.
