Good for him. It is a terrible addiction.
I am proud of him. He will be a good example for others who are trying to overcome this addiction! YAY!
I'm sorry, but I just have to ask the question --- WHO GIVES A SHEET?
And, why, WHY, oh WHY, does MSNBC choose to post this "story"?
These people sicken me as an American, whose relatives arrived in this country via Plimoth Plantation.
And we are now supposed to be impressed by a "man" who we are not even certain is a legal citizen, to "give up smoking"?
The once great Republic of America is no longer. The "Founding Fathers", from Western Europe, who built this country are turning over in their graves.
And, of course, the turning will not help.
America is on the decline, and the Chicago politician BO, is just one more nail in the coffin.

Have you ever heard of vetting? The Congress, C.I.A., F.B.I. and Secret Service to name a few are sure he is a born citizen. What proof do you have to the contrary? As far as the country being on the decline it is only doing so because of people like you.

Those who have never been addicted to nicotine have no idea how relentless that can be. I have been tobacco free since 1992, after smoking for nearly 17 years.
Don't give up Mr President, it gets much easier as time goes on. After several years you won't even think about it anymore, or when you do it will be with disdain and pride.
We'll see for how long. Here's hoping forever.
It's about time you start showing a good example to your kids and the American public. Health reform should start with YOU, but the greased wheel always makes the most noise. I guess the only good news is that you weren't caught smoking Cambodian Stumble Weed (pot) in the White House with one of your young "aids". Congratulations. I quit years ago and can smell and taste things I never knew existed. It is great to do that. Now I hate smelling smokers they stink.
What a minute...he quit a long time ago! Oh, he quit again! Guess the first time didn't take. My guess is this one won't either.
Besides...who cares? Other than the peolpe that have to be around him when he lights up. If he gets lung cancer, or gives it to his kids, it is his own fault. Let him smoke. Just like anyone else he is free to smoke all he wants as long as it isn't bothering anyone else.
Light one up Mr. O! Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. Just stop lying to us. Tell us you smoke, you like smoking and you're going to continue to smoke. At least then you might gain some small amount of respect for being honest for a change.
The First Lady should have said nothing. Now she has spoken for someone else and should he ever, ever smoke again, she will be a tagged a liar. It was his habit, his life, his decision, and now if he resumes smoking he is either going to have to sneak around or risk embarrassment to his wife.
