There are several feral cats by the local Y. I will check to see if they have the M on their forehead. Like mutt dogs feral cats tend to be smarter.
All tabby cats have the M on their forehead. There's a charming folk story about tabby cats getting the M on their foreheads after Mary stroked the cat that curled up w/ the infant Jesus that 1st night, helping Him keep warm.

I suppose you could consider the cats a sort of historic treasure, not unlike the artifacts of the pharaohs' tombs.
We wouldn't want to bother saving the starving children in Africa when we can save a bunch of stray cats. These people should be granted dual citizenship with the USA, they have more money than brains.
I believe in what this organization is doing. I believe I have a "Native" Egyptian Mau and I hope these cats will get the recognition they deserve. Stuck up Western breeders like to say Maus "have to be entirely spotted." Let's let the DNA researchers tell us if they are related to the Pharonic cats of the past. Good stuff! I hope to hear updates on this whole story.
