Maybe you have been sleeping during the war in drugs the last 40 years. You know where we have thousands or people currently locked up for sentences of 20-life cause they got caught smoking a joint more then once at hundreds of billions in price tag? Even if it was a third time. Although we do have people busted 4 ,5 even 6 or more times driving drunk who are still on the streets. Why be hypocritical. If smoking a joint gets you a couple years and repeat smoking can get you life then I guess that romantic wine of glass with dinner for someone who tests positive after should be subject to those same long penalties as its even more dangerous and kills that many more innocent people a year. Keep the laws however you want to. Just no hypocritical times between the two
When you have to overpower the guards to break out. and the dogs are set out to hunt you down that is prison - not a rehab center.
And Orbust, I believe that we have prisons at every level in every state in the union. I'm also positive they are filled with drug addicts, too.

Of course they busted out. They couldn't get any drugs inside. And after 2 years of bootcamp, they needed some leave.
The term "rehabilitation" is nothing more than a joke. Do paroll board members still ask prisoners if they have successfully rehabilitated themselves?

And...I thought the drug laws here were strict? They called them the "Inmates"! Damn!
They call them Inmates here to and the sentences are much longer here also.
They should have put them in the Hanoi Hilton. No one breaks out of there...

Human rights groups condemned the centers? Who are these "human rights" groups and who gave them the authority to condemn anything? I condemn them, does that mean they'll go away now?

Practical-3073443: In case you hadn't noticed, drugs come under "Health", unless you are one of those "head-in-the-sand" types that don't follow any news outside your own backyard. A bit like the eejit that said he didnt care about this news because he lives in America. Is that that noise Ostriches make?
Anyway, these addicts are lucky. In kind-of-democratic Singapore, addicts end up hanging from a noose. Mostly stupid foreigners since the message is well understood at home.
I hope the one still on the loose arn't found, reason being hell hole to be in, can't try and turn a person right and treat them like a piece of @!$%#.
Another failure of the communist utopia. It doesn't make any difference of what form of government you have, some people will never contribute to the greater good.
