Maybe I am wrong but doesn't it look like the father and the priest are both smiling in this picture?! I would be lying in that bed next to my son...not smiling by his bed!
Please don't think I am in anyway picking on you or trying to be mean because that is not my intent with this story. Just some insight from somebody who saw first hand! My sister, brother in law had a beautiful little boy that had a disease that was undiagnosed for over a year. He was a very happy baby always smiling and laughing. At 2 he was given a bone marrow transplant and he lost his smile and laughter. For the next 4 months he was in and out of the hospital until finally he slipped into a coma, and was put on life support. We tried to take all the pictures we could because we were told he wouldn't survive. I have found few pictures from those 3 final days where we weren't smiling. (Although we were crying in EVERY SINGLE ONE) My sister found alot of strength and will to go on from those pictures.
Just saying everybody deals with these type of hardships very differently. My sister begged all of us to celebrate her baby.
I'm sad to see that little boy suffering but I can see why the parents don't want to give up, this is their second child with this condition. The first child has already passed away. As a mother I would stop all treatment to end my childs suffering, not hold on because I wasn't ready. I'm not in their shoes though, I only wish them the best in any descion they make.
As I watched my sister going thru the decision making process of whether or not she kept her son on life support at 2yrs and 5 months, I certainly can sympathize with this family for all they are going through. I won't pass judgement on the excruciatingly painful choice they are having to make. All I can say is my prayers and condolances go out to this family. May God bless the parents and their precious boy!
