If there is enough demand, an enterprising company will simply develop a product that will allow one to add their on menthol. A menthol/ethanol solution in a felt-tipped dispenser that one simply swiped down the length of a regular cigarette with would do the trick. The FDA would have a lot of trouble banning that.

Do african-americans smoke more menthols? I always thought this was just stereotype. To me this article sounds like pure propaganda. Why would the FDA care what one race of people is smoking? Seems kind of un-american

More people that have asthmatic problems who smoke smoke menthol cigarettes. It is true that black people who do smoke, smoke Newport or Salem. Both brand names only come in menthol. I think that the cigarette makers can put less menthol and other flavors in their products. I smoke, and I have found that flavoring in cigarettes just make other things taste bad. The most disgusting flavoring is wintergreen mint. It doesn't taste good in gum either.

Im tired of these low life jerkwads who cant figure out what to do with their time and want to feel improtant, who have a job that pays them to much to do nothing then they come up with ludacris things to do to the american people because they cant figure out how to do something worth while, like keep sexual predators from getting out of jail and repeating it over and over, or maybe try to figure out why our goverment is so crooked, just to see if they can keep there job and to see if they can get away with it, they are trying to dictate what people like to do with their money or free time or take away what little luxurys or comforts that we do have left, and if we continue to let people take away our civil liberties, our freedom, and our own way of thinking, what we like to do for fun, how we raise our children, how to sit down on the potty, then eventually they will be doing it all for us, we already have no say in anything, we just sit and wait for the news to tell us what people with the money and the power with no brains tells us they came up with, then they get mad that people protest or riot and wanted just to have a fair say and cannot, so it boils down to we get what 1 person thought of, 10 people say "hey ill vote with you on that" " i need to keep my job i havent done anything of worth all my life or lately and this might get my name mentioned on the news" then 5 people at a table behind a door on the 5th floor have lunch tell jokes and vote to ban stuff, like cupcakes cause they cause health problems, ( obesity, zits, etc.) and we lose, i wish they would just lets us live, and let us have the freedom we are supoposed to have, i feel like we have no freedom, or privacy left with all the things they have and try to take away, and with the cameras and phone taps and false sense of security by telling us its for our safety when its just to watch us pick our noses cause theres a huge booger in it, or pick your girl friends wedgie out of her butt cause her chubby cheeks got hungry, lol, i end with this, i read somewhere a bunch of the dumbest laws in the U.S., i remember one cuz i like doughnuts, there was a state who banned or made illegal eating a dougnut without a napkin, now how stupid is that and the people who thought of it, voted on it, and passed it. Wonderful isnt it?
