I am 51 years old and was denied life insurance due to the fact my PSA was 5.83 .They only accept no higher then 3.5. Except for the PSA results Im in perfect health. Upon recieving my denial of life insurance I had my family doctor give another PSA test which came to 4.58. He referred me to a Urologist who just yesterday gave me the digital exam. There was no signs of any prostate enlargment and I have no symptoms.
Because I have no signs of inflamation/symptons his words " my PSA is twice the number it should be for my age which concerns him". I am now scheduled for biopsy next week. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
However, a false-positive result will allow the doctors and pharmaceuticals to make a lot of money off of you.
hmm if that were the case, why do you think VCs are throwing money at diagnostics companies?
