I saw Jaimes' first show in LA and boy, I think its disgusting how these school officials don,t even want to start a conversation with him to benefit the kids in these schools! These officials seem like they could care less about what they,re feeding these kids, even when they come face to face with all the grisly facts about the garbage these kids are getting! No road to change is easy...but when it comes to our childrens health, you,d think someone would listen ! It all comes down to the easiest and cheepest methods where someone can make a buck off our childrens health, and thats the bottom line. Kids get used to what they know, and as long as we keep feeding them garbage...thats what they,ll eat and evryone else will pay the price later when half of this generation gets diabetes and everything else related to a high fat saturated diet ! I give Jaime ALOT of credit !
I like Jamie Oliver and commend him for trying to teach parents and children the correct way to eat and still enjoy their food. There is a lot of discontent among the school officials and the way that they are treating Jamie is horrible. If I were him, I would pack my bags and go back across the pond. I have diabetes type 2 and have just recently been seen by a nutritionist who has taught me a great deal about my diabetes and what I should and should not eat. I thought I knew everything that I needed to know until she set me straight. I am not eating right, enjoying my food, exercising, my blood sugars are down, almost normal now, and I have had fun doing the changes that she made me see that I needed in order to live the rest of my life without worrying constantly about whether I should eat this or that. I do wish that the schools here in America would open their eyes and take a good, long look at the children. If they would just give him a chance, I would be happy, and I am sure that Jamie would be, too.
