Oh - this is it! Wash everything, people! We're going to have to go back to growing everything for ourselves if the growers can't keep "crap" off of everything.
The system thats in place in europe to track e-coli and salmonella in produce works .Its not in this country because producers cried about the cost so we become collateral damage and and the politicans keep their donations rolling in! Oh thats right the F.D.A. IS Understaffed and people have to get sick before they do anything!
Oh the ever-popular "attack the FDA" which had nothing to do with this! Voluntary recall by the NC company. No injuries, no sickness. It appears that the free market works and the company regulated itself....
anyone who buys store food like this and don't wash it should STOP and think of all the chemicals sprayed on and all the hands on before you get it let alone serve it on your dinner table [yuk yuk] so holesome this market grown food
The story indicates inspectors found salmonella last week **on** cucumbers. Salmonella bacteria is naturally occurring all over in the environment. Use the common wisdom our mothers and grandmothers have been telling us for centuries - Wash your food before you eat it! You don't know who or what else may have touched it in the process of growing in an open field or being picked, packed or shipped to your grocer.
With the massive flooding washing out feces from pastures and excess raw sewage from treatment plants into beds of vegetables, we will probably see sicknesses we have never experienced before.
Well duh, of course you're supposed to wash the cucumber and everyone, unless that person is an idiot, washes it prior to use, but this is probably something that would only come off with hot water or some sort of soap, or maybe peeling the skin off.
Thanks goodness, I live in europe. I have never heard of food poisoning here. Our food is very safe, hormones are not allowed in meat and we all know that nutrasweet is a poison chemical made by monsanto that makes pesticides and other poisons.
Americans are so naive, they think they live in the greatest country in the world, what a bunch of fools ! YOUR FOOD SUPPLY IS POISONNED, PEOPLE AND IT IS FULL OF POISONED CHEMICALS.
I second that, thank goodness you live in europe! How insightful of you to understand that salmonella is only an issue in the USA, or wait, maybe, we just aren't afraid of the truth and are honest enough to disclose facts when there is a problem, unlike where ever the hell in europe you live that just hides everything from the people. Cearly, you are easily fooled if you think Obama is the best, but then, maybe for europe he is, but not worth a da*mn for the US.
really? interesting... because a quick google search will show you that food poisoning incidents across Europe are higher than in the US, proportional to the population. I guess with all your great regulation and high prices, you're actually worse off than we are...just another naive European....
Um...
So how does the average joe know what lot number his cucumbers are? Anyone have an idea where the wholesaler is located that sold it to the store?
Coming from the toilet paper dust evacuates a plane story...give some to the field workers who apparently need more honey huts and disinfectant.

just a raw dill..for the consumer..who's all ready in a pickle...
When is the media going to talk about the real story of how all these food products get contaminated by the monopoly three of food manufacturers?
Oh wait, they can't. Federal legislature prevents photos, articles, even this post that I'm wr
The republicans must be sleeping late this Saturday morning...they haven't blamed Obama yet for this. Give'em a few hours...

Oh, crap. Now a certain segment of the population will have to put a condom on their cucumbers.
