Isn't this kind of common sense? My doctor uses a chaperone for intimate exams, and I'm an adult (and we're all women). I realize it may be odd at first for a teenager, but you get used to it.
I had a woman doctor put her hand in me but she had a male nurse sit in a chair in the room. I had other women doctors do the same thing but without anyone. I even had a very young female student who was not a medical student do the same thing to me. I believe in having someone present for exams on preteen and teenage girls and preteen and teenage boys. The medical profession has its share of people who do things other than just a momentary touch or look. I remember seeing a dentist giving his women patients an anthestetic and then climbing on them and raping them. A hidden camera was installed which is how he was finally caught after several women complained of feeling raped after regaining consciousness. Those who put the kids they don't want around anymore place them in catholic facilities for the deaf or mentallly impaired only to find out their son or daughter has been raped by the "so-called" religious people in them. They have a captive group and who is going to believe someone who is in one of these places.
I think medical chaperones are a good idea all around when the parents can't be there for whatever reason. However, when the parent can be there, I think it's absolutely preferable.
