I was under the impression that insulin is a hormone and not merely a protein.
metformin does nothing to control blood sugar levels i was put on it and for 1 year it did nothing except make my kidneys ache. Diet and excersise have kept my diabetes in check.These new drugs have side affects worse than the disease itself.It's similar to taking statins for Cholesterol when Niacin is proven to work as well or better than the statins.Sugar is a poison and the sooner we stop using it the healthier we will all be.
No love for the Type I diabetics! Wish I could take a pill instead of injecting insulin. :(

I hope this drug works without side effects. It is what my fiancée needs for her type 2 diabetes.
How about a cure? If they can come up with things like Viagra to make old men behave like 22 year olds, how about a cure for something that kills. People die from the complications of diabetes---no one ever died from lack of a stiffy. It's all about male vanity. Let's get on with the real problems in this society.
i have all the side effects except kidney problem from having type 2 for over 25 yeas now. many, many years ago me Endo doctor told me that there was not only a viable cure but that testing using a light on your fingertip was close. why can't you people stop being so greedy and stop teetering on the edge of manslaughter and release all you have to save lives. you get enough money from the sale of other drugs for prevention. life your heads high and show the world if any of you care to do the really, really right thing. if there is no cure, stop teasing people on the verge of death and give us what we need. wouldn't you do this for family? do you love money so much you are willing to let, perhaps your mothers, die?
