Having Proton radiation is a better alternative because of a very small possibility of nasty side effects with the same cancer killing results! Check out Proton treatment before accepting surgery as the best treatment. I'm very glad that I did when I was diagnosed a few years ago. Dean
I think alot of young men should be checked for Prostate Cancer early. I was in the military when a doctor just happened to see my PSA levels. They wasn't even looking for it because i was in my mid 30's. My PSA levels was high for a few years. Last year it was discovered i had cancer. I elected to have prostate removal surgery to prolong my live. Plus i did not want to have biopsys every year. Im still recovering but im glad i had it done.
I was diagnosed at age 54 during a routine physical and PSA test. The follow up biopsy revealed a Gleason 7 (3+4) tumor constituting the vast percentage of my prostate. I elected to undergo the da Vinci robotic nerve sparing surgery. Less than 2 days after surgery I was back at home. Two weeks later the catheter was removed. I had no significant incontinence- just some drips and dribbles- that lasted only a few weeks and was easily controlled with a pad worn in my tightie whities. About 5 weeks after surgery I achieved a post-surgery orgasm. (Erectile function improved incrementally and fully recovered in less than 12 months. Less than three months after surgery I was off the pads and back in the gym. I feel great and remain cancer free.

Cryosurgery (freezing) is the best treatment because it can be repeated. None of the other treatments can.

In Europe, you don't have much choice in the matter.
