Alaska has very high rates of rape. It's not always the unprotected sex that causes these diseases.

WHy is it the most right leaning political states have the highest rates of divorce, murder, suicide and sexually transmitted diseases?

Well, there's lots. Mountainclimbing, biking, river rafting, hiking in the woods, fishing (and lots of it), wildlife watching, skiiing/snowboarding/tubing (when there's snow), going to the local theater, hanging out at the local coffee shop, hunting, etc.

There's lots to do up here, but we sadly have one of the highest rates of rape and some of our native villages aren't provided adequate supplies for protected sex.

That's right....when god takes a look and sees that the people of Alaska are having waaayyyy tooooo much premarital sex, he decided to strike them with chlamydia and gonorrhea ....Gotta LOVE a god like that....I wonder if this god will hit them with a little HIV as well?

The people are a gentler, kinder sort. The sunsets in the winter and sunrises in the summer are breathtaking. The northern lights. Animals everywhere. Literally. The trees and mountains and well.....everything! Hiking, biking, camping and fishing.

Not forgetting that they give us each an extra couple thousand bucks a year to live here. It's called the Permanent Fund Dividend. For a family of five......well you do the math.

As long as you're not an idiot an catch some disease it's pretty sweet.

I love Alaska. The wildlife and the freedom here is amazing. You can climb a mountain and it won't be someone's "property". I remember being at my cousins house in Indiana and was disappointed when I couldn't walk in the woods by their house because it was owned by another person. Really, you can walk in one direction and keep on going here.

Alaska is a wonderful place. Give it a try. Where I live, cruise ships come and tourists from all over the world arrive here just to see the sunrise/sunset that I am blessed to see every day.
