Immigrants to the United States may be packing on the pounds, in part, because of a desire to fit in with the citizens of their new country, a new study suggests

Such bull, what kind of dumb study was that? I'm from a family of immigrants and I didn't get fat by eating junk food to fit in. I got fat here because the only way to get around was by driving (not walking or bike riding), also every corner has a fast food restaurant, to even get a snack was nuts - just a small bag of chips has 1000 calories!! Hardly ever would people be outside doing anything active, most of the time they barracade themselves in front of the tv.

It's not the desire to fit in - it's the lifestyle here.

The desire to fit in with the lifestyle. You better know last night's prime-time reality TV or you will have nothing to talk about on the drive to Willy's All-U-Can-Eat.

Eating out will fatten up any lamb in no time, but yes, the onslaught of food, be it from the preponderance of vending machines/corner stores to the bottomless candy bowl at work, is overwhelming.
