Fear is not a good motivator, especially for those already addicted to cigarettes. If 20 - 30 years of steadily more graphic images of diseased lungs, cancer statistics and people belching warnings through holes in their necks hasn't dissuaded potential smokers - then fear of eventual blindness ... possibly caused by smoking ... isn't much of a deterrent either.

Look, here is the fact - as long a cigarette smoking is legal, taxed and available, new smokers will continue to be attracted. If smoking is bad - then ban it. Else, leave it alone, its no more or less than anyother vice adults may choose to enjoy.
