Despite the hole in his heart's main artery, Mendigutia's heart was able to pump blood around the bullet wound because of a "very rare" anatomical anomaly, doctors said.
I wish news articles like this were more an anomaly. Leaving out the one item they elude to in the title and that we want to know. What is the very rare anomaly????
It's an accidental shooting? She pulled the trigger intentionally - not accidentally.
Just because it's a dare doesn't make it an accident - and it also doesn't mean it isn't a crime.
I guess they are just being lenient because it was a pellet gun - and they both apparently assumed (incorrectly!) that it didn't have enough power to cause harm.
Good luck for both - he lives - and she's not in trouble for it.
Now, why couldn't my now ex wife have ever dared me to shoot her? Guess I would have been prosecuted - wouldn't have been using a pellet gun.....
Seriously, being older than 18 doesn't make someone a man. I'm embarrassed to know this but it wasn't even the same stunt that Johnny Knoxville had completed. Johnny was shot with a bean bag projectile this kid was shot with a bb or pellet. I need to find new friends that don't watch such childish things it's a shame I'm too old to make new friends.
Hopefully more details are posted later in the week on this article...It is only 6 hours old after all. On the topic of the article as is though, how stupid can you get to shoot your self as a stunt??!!
"Miami-Dade Police have ruled the incident an accidental shooting"
1) cocked & loaded gun;
B) pointed at BF;
III) trigger pulled.
Evidently, there's a competition for the "Jackass" title in Fla between the perp-dopes and the cop-dopes... although, you'd like to believe the professionals know what happens when the trigger gets pulled.
No description of the anomaly. What an informative article.
My thought exactly- I kept looking for more on the article and as usual- it simply wasn't there.
Yea, Gotta agree with both of ya. Like WTF?
And?
They didn't mention the heart, but I'll bet he's got his head up his A$$!!!

Well, this is just the usual boneheaded reporting, 'cept this time about a bonehead pair of teens. It's a match made in heaven.
Oh, THOSE CRAZY KIDS!!
May have been more interesting if it was divulged what rare heart anomaly the young man had....
How will this affect the Darwin awards?

The headline uses the word "man". I would not call this character a "man". I, personally, would call him a fool.

That is great that he lived through this but they may have fun getting his insurance to pay the bill. Stupidy is a prexesting condition.
Stupid hurts, and it ain't cheap.
How completely STUPID can two people be?
Apparently, very.
Now that they have the "shoot" thing figured out, how long will it take for 'em to breed?

The blood may still flow through his heart, but was any getting to his brain?
Was any getting there before? :P
Too bad beneficial mutations are wasted on idiots
Too bad beneficial mutations are wasted on idiots.
Yep, a rare heart but he has a not so rare brain. Just plain stupid.
This couple needs to watch their back, because DARWIN has their number...
WTF #2...

I hope these two don't breed.
