I wonder why German authorities blamed Spanish cucumbers without being sure of what was going on. This wrong information - maybe done on purpose - is costing Spanish growers € 225 million a week and now the EU has offered only €150 million in compensation to Spanish farmers.

German Agriculture Minister Ilse Aigner should resign for her incompetence: you must not accuse/blame another country without having enough proof from the lab.

As for the source, first I thought of drinking water: someone could have put something in the water of Hamburg, but I have been told that Germans usually drink bottled water because they prefer carbonated water.

I think it is a new kind of terrorism, the worst: BIOTERRORISM, a form of terrorism where there is the intentional release of biological agents - bacteria, viruses, or other germs - to kill people invisibly.

Mi advice is same as others here: always wash your hands with soap before eating, avoid eating raw vegetables, boil all food and drinking water at least for 10 minutes, and stop bathing in and drinking from rivers.

Hope scientists can find the source of this terrible illness soon.

Germans, don´t wash your hands as Pilate did - the source of killer bacteria is in YOUR country, not in Spain -, but wash your hands before manipulating food!
