I have the bad fortune of catching colds twice a year for most of my life.......Nothing really works to shorten the duration of my colds which usually last a week.........Three years ago I made some dandellion wine and tried a glass of it when I cought a cold.......That cold lasted only one day.........Same effect for my daughter when she caught a cold........Give it a try.......Its easy to make.
If placebos work - and this is not the first study to show this - then by definition so does homeopathy. Homeopathy is basically specific, targeted placebo.
I know someone with very bad hay fever, and I have watched eyes swell up & turn red, sinuses, etc, from exposure to a real-looking silk rose. Just recently I've encouraged this person to homeopathic medicines - (which many studies claim are no different than Placebo) - with almost-miraculous results.
Apparently some studies say that Placebo works even when the person knows it's a placebo.
The common cold, as long as it doesn't increase to too high of a degree, is actually good for you.
The mucus grasps onto particles stuck in your airways and in your lungs, and loosens them up to be discharged from your body in the many ways you already know. Sneezing, coughing, crapping.. The common cold is good for you. What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger. Just drink plenty of water.
I almost never catch colds or flus - even when I am exposed to them by my families.
At worst, I'll get the sniffles for a few hours.
I just tell my body to reject it. And drink some good herbal tea. Works like magic every time.
