The study of 2,338 men showed that the guys who masturbated five or more times a week were 34 percent less likely to develop prostate cancer by age 70 than those who handled matters less often.
Unfortunately, 2,337 of these men have now gone blind. ;-)
We had to install several "Smoking" gazebos for our smokers to have a safe place to light up whenever they take breaks. I wonder if the boss will go for my latest employee suggestion.....A "Whacking" gazebo for us non-smokers. Shouldn't we get the same amount of breaks to take care of our personal habits too? Especially since we can now claim it as a medical break just like breast feeding women who also get to leave the job to pump. Hell, we could watch and then management would not even have to buy us any magazines. A great money saver if I have ever heard of one.....
yeld: Well, if you boss won't go along with that, then there is a simple solution coming to a store near you. I've decided to open a new chain of stores: "Wine and Whack! We whack the prostate cancer out of you!"
One important fact they forgot to mention. If your PSA number starts to move upward; say from 2.8 to 3.0 then 3.0 to3.2 over a period of time,(18 mos to a couple of years) that is a real solid indication that you may have a problem. Mine moved from 3.0 to 3.2 to 3.4 so my doctor ( God bless him) recommended that I have a biopsy. Sure enough I had cancer, had it removed by the deVince method about six ears ago and everything is great. So if your PSA starts moving; time to think about checking it out further
There is a paid position on the royal staff (employees, not the other) who perform all those special acts for them. Don't want the little prince/s messing up their fancy white gloves.
I hope that all you guys with the wise assed comments never get advanced prostate cancer, as I have. The treatment is often worse than the disease, but at this stage it is incurable and just a matter of time. So have your jokes and just hope you don't get prostate cancer. Better to go suddenly with a heart attack, stroke, or fatal head injury from a fall. Believe me, there is nothing at all funny about having cancer.
Eat Pumpkin seeds, stops frequent urinating, especially in the middle of the night, give it 2 weeks, you won't get up in the middle of the night, after 2 weeks.I believe it is the copper content in the seeds.
This is perhaps the most irresponsible piece of journalism I have ever read. Most of these "recommendations" are generated from weak studies that have been unsubstantiated. The comments about the robotic prostatectomy were particularly egregious...no reputable study has EVER demonstrated such reductions in incontinence or impotence. Reading this story, one would think that you just need to masturbate, drink some wine and get a robotic prostatectomy and everything will be perfect. You should really be more responsible about what you present to the public about this very serious and controversial topic.
So "doc", what do you suggest. Those that have taken the time to read the article and poke through the comments care. Can you point (specifically) to any other info or provide some of your advice directly here?
I have read about a procedure becoming common in europe where a substance is injected into the blood vessels supplying the protrate, and it "clogs" them, thereby cutting off supply to cancerous tissue. I wish I could remember the product/chemical name, but it is not approved in US yet. The success rate, according to what I read, was good. I liked the diet tips, will get a jug of redmountain, bunch of garlic, proper herbs and try that prevention route.
When without woman, self relief is standard issue, so ok there.
Have read tomatoes, garlic, saw palmetto, pumpkin seeds are good preventive foods. watch out for pharmaceuticals, you might get one of the adverse reactions that mumbling guy in the background lists..whadda joke. avoid commercial medicine whenever possible. poison for profit, generally, with some notable exceptions and miracles.
Avoid radical removal if possible. new cures on way. A Sante' JJ
If you ever get it have it removed. I speak from experience. Radiation, Cryo surgery and cyber knife do not get rid of it. It's only temporary. There is no cure so if you get it remove it. Robotic surgery is best because there is less chance of messing something up. They are develping shots to cure it but not available yet.
You can live with prostate cancer for 20,30 years or more, it all depends on how you choose to treat it, live with it, or try to get rid of it.
Pistachio nuts (3 ozs per day) is a great way prevent prostate cancer. There are many other vitamins and foods to help prevent, but if you get it, its not the end of the world (stage 4 is very serious) but thousands of men live with prostate cancer for years and do very little treatment.
I know guys with prostate cancer who died of other problems but not prostate cancer. This is a revenue generator for doctors and drug companies. REad up, get informed, and make your own decision.
I dont like the doctor up my bum let a lone a robot, man, thats a small robot and I hope they clean him up after each use. What would they call him "Buttatron"? Or IBuMmer? Hope its not AppleButt or Bot. Maybe "Windowsmyass"
I too was diagnosed with prostate cancer but before I went down the traditional burn, cut or poison approach I took the time to learn about diet, health & cancer. Understanding what powerful impact the things you put in your mouth everyday can have in reversing disease is not a "quack" approach as the American Medical Association and Big Pharmaceutical companies would have you believe. It is much more than a common sense approach to health, it’s nothing short of a proven method to cure cancer... Cancer is your body's response to years of eating toxic "food" that is grown with pesticides, cooked until the digestive enzymes are killed off, containing cancer causing animal fat & protein, and overly processed with just enough chemicals added to make sure you will become ill.
Well it doesn’t have to be that way and you CAN reverse your cancer and clean up the toxins in your body. I did and I feel great! It was 9 months ago at the age of 62 that I was diagnosed. Now I never worry about doctors, chemo or if I'm still in "remission". I am getting healthier every day!
People who eat whole plant based foods have less cancer, heart disease and autoimmune problems. Please don't believe me... learn for yourself like I did. Study the benefits of diet in dealing with cancer, heart disease and any other chronic "Western" diseases. Read "The China Study", a 20-year partnership of Cornell University, Oxford University, and the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine. It details the connection between nutrition and heart disease, diabetes and cancer & examines the “nutritional confusion” produced by powerful lobbies, government entities, & opportunistic scientists. The N.Y. Times recognized the study as the “Grand Prix of epidemiology”, and the “most comprehensive large study ever undertaken of the relationship between diet and the risk of developing disease.”
Go to www.thechinastudy.com and then go to to see Dr. Dean Ornish talk about simple, low-tech and low-cost ways to take advantage of the body’s natural desire to heal itself. He discusses his groundbreaking study on prostate cancer. To learn about changing your body chemistry go to: www.phmiracleliving.com.
Want to reverse your cancer? More poison in your body will only prolong the agony and make the drug companies more money… or start eating whole plant based diet and give your body what it needs to heal itself!
I guess I will be the first and I hope it is a long line to follow.
I am68 this year and I had/have prostate cancer and had open surgery in september of 2005. Since that day I have not one erection without add of shots. As far as masturbation, I far exceeded five time per week. So that did not help me. As far as hair loss, I guess I could say that is the reason n umber one. As far as wine and dinning that is up in the air.
I did not know why, but there are a few things I do know. The number of men that get this cancer, very few of them stand up and go to meetings and voice the hell they are going trough on line or at the meetings. My wife and I go to a US TOO meetings and the wives far out talk us men that have the issue. Until that turns around there is less hope for us. More men will die with prostate cancer then will women/men will die from breast cancer - yes men can and do die from breast cancer. I see there are a few more comments.
Been diagnosed with prostate cancer???? Get a second opinion, get a second check up on a different day.
Prostate cancer builds great revenue for doctors. I have three friends that were diagnosed with prostate cancer, after visiting some other doctors and one found out he had a low grade systemic infection, not prostate cancer. All three are alive and well and no cancer. They had similar symptoms but no cancer, had they listened to their doctor they all would have had radiation and chemotherapy to cure what they didnt have.
I also know a guy who treated what was thought to be prostate cancer, 9 months of treatment, it was discovered he didnt have prostate cancer, he had some stones in his bladderd, that had to be pulverized. He never had prostate cancer but his PSA was slightly elevated.
Doctors jump to treatment too fast, but hey, thats how they make profit. It's like the dentist that wants you to come back three times for a cleaning, then fill a cavity with two visit, then cap teeth that look suspicious. The medical community are too money hungry instead of sincere compassion and concern for patients, but Medicaid and insurance doesnt cover compassion and concern, they cover treatments and illnesses.
Well, I love my husband of over 22 years & I'm willing to help any which way I can!! ;)
Bring on the fun.... lol
If only the Religious Right believed in Science.
(Faceplants in disbelief).
Sorry for the late post reply but I was busy preventing prostate cancer. Guess I'll have cut back just a little to get in the correct range.
No man will ever get uterine cancer...sounds fair!
Now I know why carpo tunnel in wrist won't go away!
Unfortunately, 2,337 of these men have now gone blind. ;-)
Or have hairy palms !!
Excellent - both.
I masterbate when ever possible it's a great hobby and fun for the whole family.

That will not work for me. The Doctors say I'm not to lift anything that heavy.
yeld: Well, if you boss won't go along with that, then there is a simple solution coming to a store near you. I've decided to open a new chain of stores: "Wine and Whack! We whack the prostate cancer out of you!"
What will your store hours be? I sure hope they don't conflict with my regularly scheduled sessions.
Prostate Service...Wine i dont know,because i never drink.
Sex....BowWow man.Alwaaaaays Open Doooor... Al Sayee.
.......... whacking off is good ? ...... oh nurse ......... nurse ..... can you lend me a hand ?
He'll be right in! ;)
That's some funny s--t....
Can you use the word handsome in a sentence..........
If you want to prevent cancer you have to use your handsome.

Good advice 'chewie" By the way about how long is six ears???
Sorry dano, you better type it louder, he had all 6 of them removed.
Chewie, briefly, what is the deVince method?
Post #4... Hair growing in the palms of your hands is another possibility! :)
Wonder if Queen Elizabeth has ever Masturbated???
There is a paid position on the royal staff (employees, not the other) who perform all those special acts for them. Don't want the little prince/s messing up their fancy white gloves.
I wish my Mom was still alive, so I could tell her she didn't have to worry. I'm 72 and my eye sight is really pretty good.

Oh good, no more guilt!

Hey, prostatedoc...you sure are a fun-killer! No party invites for you.
Those who are going to get it.....get it. Those who won't.........don't.
Thanks for obliterating the article, Doc. Now, why don't you throw in a few of your own suggestions.

If you stand up straight on a consistant basis, you can help avoid prostrate cancer
It's too hectic at home. I'll have to squeeze it in at work or on the commute in the car.
So if your wife catches you, you can tell her you're doing your part for cancer prevention, one pull at a time.

.... I am out of here, I have my weekly quota to make.
Who knew working out could be so much fun.
