Professional basketball players are saying "hallelujah." They can now feel free to have sex without a condoms with as many women as possible without worrying about fathering some kid.Â
Oh, Vincent. You never fail to appear with your charming two-cents.
What's the matter...did some little filly break your heart? You have got it OUT for women, bud. "Gold digging women"? "Monopoly" on reproduction? Hmm... I guess your parents never had the talk with you did they... takes TWO to get pregnant.
Actually I do know a woman who purposely 'accidentally' got pregnant to keep a guy from leaving her. There are horribly manipulative women out there who do do this sort of thing. I am a woman- before people start calling me names for saying that.
I'm not saying there aren't women out there who do that. But if a man is in the position where he doesn't want a child, especially if he thinks he is with a "horribly manipulative woman" and/or may be leaving her, he needs to use a condom. Period. He can't just assume that a woman is on birth control. TWO PEOPLE in a relationship, two people having sex, two people to get pregnant, both need to share the responsibility of birth control.
Better hope that Ms Bachmann or someone like her does NOT make it into office or this will be shot down in a heartbeat. I can NOT believe that there are still people out there saying it is good to have as many babies as possible.
I hope this works and I hope men will step up to the plate.
BOO HOO you big fat baby! At the GYN women have objects stuck in them, they are prodded, probed and fed hormones that can cause blood clots and even death...TIME TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE WHINER and take some of the responsibility off of her.
Not to get in the way of your sexism (if something's effective, it's effective no matter who invents it), but no, it wasn't. RISUG was developed by Sujoy Guha in India, and he's been testing and tweaking it for about 30 years; there have been some concerns, but overall it works well to destroy sperm motility and is entirely reversible. Elaine Lissner is responsible for US testing according to FDA guidelines and standards.
So, do you find the injections into the vas deferens more acceptable now that a man invented it? Or will you just find another excuse to hate on it?
I would have absolutely no problem with pills, topical ointments or any other means of doing my fair share. That is not the point. The point is, if you can grasp this without applying anymore labels (e.g. anyone who disagrees is obviously a sexist) a man's scrotum is highly sensitive, second only to your eyeball, and sticking a needle in it invokes a particularly strong reaction among men. I shoulld have kept my opinion to myself, since obviously by the reactions I am reading in these posts, only women have a right to comment. It is obvious who the real haters are.
My goodness, that is horrible. If only there were some solution or compound that could render the area temporarily numb, reducing or eliminating sensitivity in the short time required to perform this activity. If that sort of thing existed, well, then men could start getting vasectomies and so forth, which they clearly don't at this time. Because of the sensitivity.
If you'd made the point that you found the method dubious because of scrotal sensitivity, that would have been one thing. But that wasn't that stated objection - you indicated that it was "pioneered by a woman" with no further comment. Hence, sexism. If you don't want to be called a sexist, don't say sexist things.
Anastetics aren't as effective on women in those sensitive areas. Trust me- we understand there is pain when it comes to anything sharp near your bits. The area would be numbed before you got the shot.
You wouldn't have to just numb my scrotum, you would also have to numb my brain, because when I would see that needle boring in on the boys, I would be climbing backwards out of the chair to get away. It is as mental a reaction as physical. Besides, why all the discussion on this one form. If the pill is as effective, just give me the pill. Or a shot in the arm. How about a topical ointment I could just rub on my scrotum. Make it strawberry flavored to liven things up. Hell, make it tuna flavor and invite the cat to join in, I don't care. Just no shots in my scrotum!
Lol @ the mental image of scrambling backwards out of the chair! and an even bigger LOL at strawberry flavored you can get your lady to help you with it! Its fun for the whole gang!!
I agree. While this is a good thing and I am all for it, they still need to put just as much emphasis on condom use. While this will prevent some unwanted pregnancies, it will do nothing for preventing those unwanted cases of syphilis and HIV.
Cory- Believe it or not not all lesbians are man haters. Just because I don't find men sexually attractive doesn't mean I hate them- a lot of my friends are men.
Don't confuse aggressive feminists with passive feminism or lesbianism. They aren't the same thing.
Maybe it's just me, but I think that as a society, we cannot continue to drown our bodies in checmicals/drugs and not expect it to have an impact on our children. With the rise in autism over the last 20/30 years, are we getting better at diagnosing it, or do we really believe that all those feel good drugs we take aren't affecting the children were producing? A woman is born with EVERY egg that she will ever have. Her body does not make them. Yet we push drugs into our bodies and wash our eggs in these drugs. Do you realy think that the eggs aren't altered in some sort? If your kid has HDD, is it because you couldn't live without your paxil, or whatever drug of choice you were taking? But then, to blame the parents for thier children's ailments isn't polically correct now is it?
You want to place this burden/guilt on woman for their children having mental health problems. Did you ever stop to think that there are more children with problems because the children are alive to diagnos. Infant mortality rates have dropped 98% over the past 150 years. The deaths of children ages 5-10 have decreased dramatically as well. As far as cancer goes, the average life expectency in 1850 was 39.5 years for white people and just 23 years for black. People did not live long enough to get cancer. With all these chemical and pills- life expectancy is now over 78 years in the U.S.
Bonnie wrote " If your kid has HDD, is it because you couldn't live without your paxil, or whatever drug of choice you were taking?"
No. The boy had HDD and ADHD because girl behavior has been idealized and normalized. Parents have been shackled to use the physical discipline methods of the past to deal with them. Schools have decided that physical access to a playground during a break should be an all-inclusive exercise in cooperation instead of competition. Boys are considered to be broken girls.
I sincerely hope that all the anti-abortion supporters in the US get behind this form of male contraception 100%. They want males to have a say in reproductive rights, so here is their chance to be responsible. Generally, single women and some married women, carry the burden of an unwanted pregnancy, and the increased likelihood of the child being abused.  Â
Pro athletes have to be the stupidest bunch. Wear a condom or pay millions in child support? Real tough choice there huh? No wonder so many are totally broke 5 years after they retire.
why don't you keep your legs closed if you don't want some deadbeat not paying you child support or giving you an STD? funny how that street runs two ways...
It's a two way street, mogage, but with uneven traffic in one direction. On the woman's end, we have tubal ligation, female condoms (or forcing the often-reluctant man to wear one), spermicide, sponges, caps, pills, IUD, implant, patch, injections... I'm probably forgetting something.
On the man's end we have... condoms and a vasectomy. This is just offering you another choice, and perhaps a more equal share in the "burden", or just more peace of mind. What's your problem with that?
I'll help you out, PrecededByNone. Day after pill. Week after pill. Abortion pill. The privilege of naming a father despite his absence of a genetic contribution. The privilege of faking a pregnancy to extend a relationship as well as concealing a pregnancy when convenient.
"perhaps a more equal share in the "burden","
Women will no longer be able to rope a man into a marriage with a child with lies about birth control.
Next time just wear a condom, and stop blaming your personal problems and personality failures on women. Like I said, it takes two people to get pregnant.
It's estimated that 10% of children born in the US are calling the wrong man daddy. Most of this is concentrated in the lower (for men) or zero (for women or incarcerated men) income brackets.
I am no so keen on the scrotum shots, but as a mother of two small boys. I definitely want this research to continue. If we can find a way to make male contraception safe, It can only benefit our men of the future.
All this new technology is good news, however it does NOT change the necessity for the USA to have a national population policy to stabilize and then reduce our overall population size!
It would be nice to prevent people from having kids until they successfully graduate high school. However that will never fly. Imagine having to show some sort of responsibility before having a kid.
I think this is a great idea. I am a woman myself but I know that some women lie about being on birth control to "trick" a man and try to trap him by becoming pregnant. I once dated a man whose ex-wife did this to at least two different men.
Unfortunately, there are still men out there who firmly believe that it's the woman's responsibility and I hope this goes to change their mind (although I don't see the scrotum shots helping with that...that just sounds painful).
Most every thinking man out there will be standing in line to use a birth control method that doesn't involve cutting our scrotum or putting a rubber sleeve on. Think about it..... no more "Surprise Daddy" messages from women who say they're using birth control but aren't. No more 18 year financial commitments to women we've only had a short relationship with. No more unwanted children putting a burden on society. Yes, I know that these things will still happen. But at least men will have the opportunity to control their own destinies if they're smart enough to do so.
Why not just have it lamenated? And if someone dare shows me a shot of their scrotum (glurp-I just threwup a little in my mouth), I won't have to worry about any seamen for awhile.
even scrotum shots — put the brakes on sperm
So that's why that girl kicked me in the nuts at the bar last night. I thought it was something I said!
I don't know about you guys, but a scrotum shot sounds really painful
probably not as painful as, you know, child support.
I'm glad to hear this is being taken more seriously lately.
Agreed. Men want a male birth control pill or shot (last 3 months) and mandatory DNA paternity testing as part of the birth certification process.
Yes, I agree also men take responsibilities for contraceptives.
But will the Christian Right Wingers treat this the same way they do the Birth Control Clinics and Issues for women?
Professional basketball players are saying "hallelujah." They can now feel free to have sex without a condoms with as many women as possible without worrying about fathering some kid.Â
Is more male control over their sexuality a bad thing? These gold-digging women are free to continue fib about taking the pill.
I sense initial resistance among men to break the female monopoly on reproduction. Odd.
Oh, Vincent. You never fail to appear with your charming two-cents.

Nobody is saying to have as many babies as possible you TWIT!!!
So you're a non-church goer, eh?
Babies EVERYWHERE!!!
Vincent Denali: These gold-digging women are free to continue fib about taking the pill.
Do "these gold-digging women" prevent the men from using condoms?
Did anyone notice the approach of "injecting gel into the scrotum" was being pioneered by a woman. When hell freezes over.
BOO HOO you big fat baby! At the GYN women have objects stuck in them, they are prodded, probed and fed hormones that can cause blood clots and even death...TIME TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE WHINER and take some of the responsibility off of her.
NOW DO YOUR DUTY!
Get a life

Wait Wait ... are you being ...... sarcastic?
sorry abortion clinic, guess i won't be sending you as much business any more !
IT'S ABOUT TIME!!! Too bad it will not prevent HIV & STD's...
still safer and cheaper to put a hat on it guys!!!;]
I agree. While this is a good thing and I am all for it, they still need to put just as much emphasis on condom use. While this will prevent some unwanted pregnancies, it will do nothing for preventing those unwanted cases of syphilis and HIV.
Condoms prevent STDs for women because male fluids are contained. Even with a condom, men are generally unprotected from a bath in female fluids.
No doubt a lezbo is behind this attack on sperm cells.
Morphine, first you have to get a woman who will sleep with your crazy butt! lol
You never cease to entertain :)
LOL that is me scrunching up my face to the smell of stinky news lol definitely not a warlock or drooling ghoul not that I can remember anyway

Bonnie,
That's the exact reason the cancer rate has been climbing steadily over the last 50-100 years.
You want to place this burden/guilt on woman for their children having mental health problems. Did you ever stop to think that there are more children with problems because the children are alive to diagnos. Infant mortality rates have dropped 98% over the past 150 years. Well done scientists.
I would hope the abortion supporters would pay more attention. Most anti-abortion people are smart enough to know why a pregnancy needs to be planned.
Ava wrote "Generally, single women and some married women, carry the burden of an unwanted pregnancy, "
And the power of pregnancy, unwanted or not, as well as the privilege of charging men for sexual access.
Nothing can stop my power sperm! NOTHING!

Interesting "fact". Still don't get why that is solely a woman's fault.
SIGN ME UP! I have little desire or inclination (read: none) to breed @ 33. Bring it on! Hurry with the trials! (Hell, I volunteer too!)

YES! Give us the power and we will rid the world of snot nosed kids.

Maybe you as a "man", being stupid enough to have unprotected sex, should not have been knocking up bitches.
