This is encouraging. Not only a potential cure to a perennial problem, but medical science is putting effort into areas where the result is a reduction in their income. This doesn't happen often enough. Science knew that ulcers could be cured by heavy anti-biotics, but this cure wasn't offered since more money was made treating the symptoms.
Curing influenza means a massive drop in costs for consumers in all sorts of medicines, plus in reductions in doctor visits, flu shots, etc.
