Heres what is needed for an FDA recall program for drugs devices and over the counter consumer products. I was quoted a couple of weeks ago in the Milwaukee Journal paper where the huge Triad recall touched everyone. If they would have been using bar codes, it would have been a lot simpler for sure. Read up below as I have been hammering this as a solution for about 2 years now and its very doable.

I'm sure she does want more power, there's never been a government leech that didn't as far back as I can recall. A few more laws or "tools in the toolbox" as they're so fond of saying ought to do it. The problem, most of these slugs don't enforce the laws we have. They sit around their offices looking for ways to make life easier .... for themselves, then when something goes South the chant begins "we need a law, we need a law". It might be helpful to trying showing up at work in the morning then actually DOING some work while they are there. Not going to happen but one can always dream I guess.

I'm not so sure about the FDA. Don't trust them as far as I can throw them. And, I can't throw them.

Companies use "123 Samples" to distribute free samples and product samples to give consumers the opportunity to try their latest and greatest product lines.

Hmmm-drugs are primarily sold these days via TV advertising. "Ask your Dr. if XXX is right for you", for $100 and office visit I should not have to ask my Dr.. De-regulate drugs, hold the industry accountable-seriously accountable-for thier product without having to use expensive, time consuming lawyers and the real "free market" will police itself.

nononono. FDA already had TOO MUCH POWER. look what they did with asthma inhalers. actual real working inhalers exist ONLY overseas now. the ones they replaced them with DO NOT WORK and i've seen folks have to go ER way more often on these new ones. add to, FDA arresting folks for RAW milk?!? WTF? Too much power. Don't give them more.

 Yet they never mention that it is legal for the drug companies to give a kickback to your doctor for prescribing their drugs, pushing up the prices of the drugs and motivating doctors to write prescriptions for brand names instead of generics.
