I believe it should be left up to consenting adults to view what they want, or NOT view what they want. As long as it doesn't become viewable by children, pornography should be left alone. Why not go after the criminals who make or distribute CHILD pornography, and leave the others alone!?
I demand a 5 day waiting period before the purchase of any porn or porn products. Background checks are a must have. Without porn we are all winners. We simply must beat it.
It's funny you are so adamantly against "porn" and the idea of your child possibly seeing it and yet (if you're like most Americans) have no problem with them viewing countless hours of glamorized beheadings and other gratuitous violence. Personally I'm less worried about my kids seeing sex than much of the violent crap on prime-time television. The country clearly is still scared about sex and afraid to admit we are a sexual animal.
Obviously we have to stamp-out the horrific child porn industry and violet pornography like snuff porn and exploitative porn (i.e. using sex slaves etc.). Other than that this is something consenting adults have every right to view and create. A 5-day waiting period? Are you kidding? We don't even require that to buy a gun so you can go kill someone! That's crazy.

I'm no supporter of porn in general. It's foul, nasty, and derogatory. BUT if people wanna watch it then that's their problem. We DO need to, however, tighten controls to ensure no one under 18 has access to porn. We ALSO need to crack down MUCH harder on child porn.

One problem in regulating "porn" is its definition. I personally find porn disgusting or even boring, but enjoy well written erotica. What's the difference, you ask? Well, there you have the core of the problem.
You're exactly right. The problem is in the definition of "porn." What I consider to be acceptable or even artistic may be repugnant to a 70 year old born-again christian. As long as that person is not being forced to watch it or anyone is being forced to participate in the making of porn, it should be a personal matter. Unfortunately, the same people who believe that government is too big tend to be the same ones who want it just big enough to regulate any and all matters related to sex.
If people want to pay and enjoy porn, they are adults and it is not my business, so what, I personaly don't waste my money on thing like this. As long it is adults, and not children. These that us children for porn, should be hung from the nearest lamp post, and if the lawyers complain, hang them too, Kills 2 birds with one stone.

Only animals sell themselves as cattle. As such don't expect to be treated differently, mindless scum, that lead to despotism in a society. Even to a point of complete emo-based crimes. Feral animals in heat or overly horny creatures create more chaos in an unwell and uncultured society that does not value rationality and reason of ones governance. Cause and affect with end results. Useless to any value of society but leeches to a society like a plague. Never will these things create anything but weak minded men, false empowerment of mindless women. Stay to the course of looking to the stars and science and mathematics and contribute something of worth, sadly these things will feed of the creations of others.
