and azindies are sooooo prejudiced. This woman is clearly mentally unstable and the fact that she claims christianity is tertiary. Jews also circumsize their boys but it isn't widely considered stupid or criminal if it is done by someone qualified to do it. Same applies to Christians.
One thing that religions have in common is they all have overzealous/crazy followers, but not all followers are overzealous/crazy.
One has to wonder: if the genders were reversed (a father performing such an act of barbarism on a girl), would the judge have left him go with such a slap on the wrist?
Of course not! He would be in prison from a combination of having a penis himself and the victim in the case being female. It's a good country to be a woman in, everyone else gets pissed on.
This is no barbarous act . I'd bet you refuse to have your children immunized for fear of autism, even though it's a false claim. Circumcision has been proved to be a health asset, reducing STD and other issues. Also, male circumcision involves removing a needless piece of skin, whereas female circumcision is a barbarous act that involves removing the clitoris. Lack of intelligence seems to be increasing in the world........
i think the barbarous act here was the fact that the untrained, uneducated mother tried doing it herself at home....it should be done by a doctor and it does not take a genius to know that! she is mental and should be locked up with her children taken away!
David--it's a barbarous act to perform surgical operations on a child without anesthesia, the proper medical tools, antiseptic and a license and training to perform such a procedure. Such circumcisions can be fatal--ten fold compared to a certified doctor having performed it. He could have bled to death, died of infection, loss of too much foreskin(causing in ability to reach orgasm), deformation of the penis and so much more. She SHOULD get jail time.
Excelent point. And whyis it right for male circucmision but wrong for female? One answer could be that male circumcision enhances orgasm whilefemlate circumcision denies pleasure and orgasm.
I'm not convinced that this mother should get a hefty jail term, but probably a jail term, none the less. She seems to be ill informed, un-educated, miss-led, gullible, and most of all STUPID (as well as mentally unbalanced). That in and of itself is not a crime. I believe that she needs to be ordered to under go psychiatric observation, and attend parenting classes. Once on that track, supervised visitation would be in order, for a determined time, after her jail time is served.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for putting criminals behind bars, keeping them away from the general public. I also believe that some criminals shouldn't even be taking up space on this planet.
Some people need to be punished, while others need to be helped. Having said that, it doesn't mean that they shouldn't be held accountable for their actions. Just held accountable in a different way than an actual 'criminal'. I do believe that what she did is a criminal act, but without the intent to actually do harm, or cause death. There needs to be a distinction between the two.
@David Circumcision has been proved to be a health asset, reducing STD and other issues. Also, male circumcision involves removing a needless piece of skin.
That is the biggest load of BS I've ever heard, and I'll tell you why. You don't have to remove the foreskin for cleanliness, you can clean it normally if you have one. And as long as the person is staying up to date on their health, and getting tested, then why not have a foreskin? Secondly, NEEDLESS PIECE OF SKIN?!?! Do you know how many nerve endings it contains which make sex more pleasurable from men?
By circumcising your sons, you're ROBBING them of the pleasure that they're ALLOWED to feel.
@MaddysMommy, WATCH IT. You're on thin ice, bitch. I'm a woman, and if you can be vicious I can too. Did you NOT read my first comment, where it says "I feel bad for men having to go through this"???? I am a female, and I do not support circumcision.
Do your homework lady, Isis is the name of a FEMALE egyptian goddess. It is NOT a male name.
T Fargo- that's why I asked for my hubby's opinion when the dr's asked if we wanted our boys circumcised... Apparently, he's perfectly happy that it was done to him as a baby. (oh, and our boys were done in the hospital, with local anesthetic).
Circumcision is serious. When I was young my mother took me to a doctor to be circumcised. When he got through I couldn't walk for a year. ........Of course, I was only 3 days old at the time.
@ isis...watch it...im on this ice...bitch.....really?? man....im all the sudden really scared over a post on the internet.....NOT! are you serious when you type such nonsense? do you really think you have that kind of power over someone on the fukin internet??
Well, obviously I have a LOT of power getting you so worked up....oh and learn to spell if you're gonna try to cuss me out.
You dug your own goddamn grave with your MOTHER@!$%#ING TONGUE when you called me a guy. Clearly you were TRYING to piss me off, what did you EXPECT.
Damn right I am serious? You think my post is NONSENSE? The fact that I had to CORRECT someone as STUPID as you as to what sex I am? You really think I posted that for my @!$%#ing health?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
the comment was sarcastic...i knew you were a female that's why i said it....cause you were talking as tho you knew what you were talking about and you clearly do not...trust me...this is not worked up cause i don't allow people like you to work me up...and i never cussed you...so maybe you should go back and read the post...the only one that felt the need to "cuss" anyone out...was you..im sorry i made a mistake in my typing...does not mean i cant spell...i hope you get help with your anger problem...i feel sorry for those closest to you if just a conversation on the internet can get you this way....good luck
I hope you get help with your anger problem. I don't need help with an "anger problem, lady, I need help with a SMARTASS problem.
You did TOO cuss me out...on the fukin internet? Can't deny it, lady, it's ON YOUR DAMN POST.
I feel sorry for those closest to you.....why because you have CONJURED IN YOUR HEAD this imaginary anger problem? Please!!!!!!!!!!!!! I only have anger issues with smartassed LOUDMOUTHS like yourself. The ones that are closest to me are VERY cool with me, and don't deliberately try to piss me off. You cannot, and WILL NOT "feel sorry for them" because there is no reason for it! I'm nice to my friends, they're nice to me, they know what irritates me and what doesn't and they respect that, UNLIKE YOURSELF.
I clearly do not know what I'm talking about? You've got some nerve, bitch. It is TRUE that men who aren't circumcised feel MORE sexual pleasure. It should be THEIR choice. They shouldn't be robbed of that choice/pleasure when they're too young to even have a say.
ok then....im sorry..i guess i thought since your a woman...the amount of a mans pleasure would be hard for you to determine. i was clearly wrong...and yes...i said "fukin internet" after you called me a bitch...again...thank you and good luck
I will feel anyway i want...for anyone i want....kk........ yeah, even though you DON'T know the people I'm close to, yet feel the need to make SNAP judgements.
How dare you! Seriously, you don't know anything about the people I'm close to, and here you are judging me? Well @!$%# YOU!
i can only judge what you have allowed me to know of you....which is exactly what you are doing to me...only for some reason you feel the need to express it in a ridiculous way...and thats not my choice for you....you did that all on your own...im done with this conversation....agreed?
Wow... sounds like someone has some identity issues...
Isis - Even if she really thought you were a guy, does it really matter that much? Its not like she said you looked like a guy. Its really hard to tell what sex someone is on the internet when you only go by their comments (which your comments made it sound like you know what a guy feels when having sex) Your name means absolutely nothing. For all we know, you could really be a guy. Just because you are using a feminine name as your screen name doesnt mean you are a girl. My name is Becca R. Does that mean I am a female named Becca? No, it means that that is what I chose for my screen name. I could just be a guy, pretending to be a girl named Becca on the vine.
she can easily express her anger or opinion without all the threatening remarks...its childish and unnecessary. i dont expect everyone on here to agree with everything i say...but if they dont...i dont feel the need to talk to them in a way that makes it seem like i can control someone over the internet...its odd
@Becca, I have NO identity issues. Let me spell it out for the BOTH of you:
I am a WOMAN. I have a PUSSY. I AM FEMALE...why the hell would I put a guys name, unless im transgender, which I'm NOT.
I never judged you. YOU judged ME by saying "I feel sorry for those close to you" "blah blah I'm stupid blah blah". YOU were the one who assumed that I'm hostile towards the people I know which is FAR from the truth. YOU judged me. YOU were in the WRONG. I treat the people I know with respect, and for you to make SNAP assumptions about that was JUST WRONG. So NO I am NOT done with this conversation.
You can't always tell what sex someone is by their screen name. You dont have to be transgender to put a guys name up, or even a masculine sounding name. I say you have identity issues because you freaked out when someone thought you were male (which they probably gathered because of your previous posts describing a mans pleasure while having sex)
@Becca, what are you anyways, a psychology student KNOWITALL? You do NOT know if I have identity issues, ONLY I know. You're NOT in my brain. You DON'T know what my "issues" are. I'm a @!$%#ing woman, and I'm happy with that. So much for "issues".
My "issues" are with smartass comments on the internet. Isis is a female name, how the HELL could people not know that?
The woman should have been sentenced to prison. In fact, it is time to outlaw the practice of infant circumcision, save for those rare (one half of one percent) instances where there is an actual medical need. Let the male decide for himself when he is old enough to make an intelligent decision.
And yes, this goes for Jewish and Muslims. Jewish and Muslim males are as much entitled to keep their penises intact as are gentiles.
Kathryn, children still ARE property to many parents. They're still forced to believe in their parents religion, forced to attend church against their will, verbally or sometimes even physically abused by their parents for doing anything that they find offensive to their "god".
Really? I know a man who was not circumcised as an infant. An educated, male nurse. He developed an infection and it was horrible! He got circumcised because of it- at the age of 36! If it is done properly at about the age of 6-8 days BY A DOCTOR, it is the best thing. I do not regret having my sons circumcised and they have never told me they are unhappy about it. But there are a lot of men who are unhappy about NOT being circumcised! And now, there are more and more because some think it is "unnecessary". Don't even try the "well, all they have to do is clean themselves properly". The friend I spoke about did and he still got an infection! This is why God told His people in the first place to be circumcised. It is not just an Old Testament thing, and it is not a religious thing.
Having said that, this woman is off her rocker! You never attempt ANY type of medical procedure on your own- especially to your own baby! No where in the Bible does it say for mothers to do it themselves, so using the Bible for this is WRONG!
Yes Just another vocal, my children are made to go to church with me. I am the adult and I make decisions for my children who are too young to make them for themselves. Just like making the decision they are not allowed to play in the road. When they are old enough to make a decision on their own then it is up to them what they feel is right. If they choose to be atheist then I guess they will be. Until then they are dragged to church screaming and kicking...sarcasm
I agree with you Diane. There are medical reasons for circumcision. The foreskin was an adaptation to protect the glans of the penis, not for sexual sensitivity. Removing the foreskin prevents many of the infections men who are uncircumcised have to deal with, such as: aids, stds and other bacterial overgrowth.
I would think letting the male decide when he is old enough would be far more traumatic than doing it at birth. When an older male is circumcised they are put under general anesthesia. When I had my son the reasons I decided to have him circumcised had nothing to do with religion but had to do with infection and the psychological aspects of seeing other boys like 'him' and mainly being like his father in that respect.
Interesting POV Diane. But when my son's were born in the 80s there was only one pediatric group in the city that we lived in at the time who would even do circumcisions. Most pediatricians in those days were actively discouraging circumcision. Simple hygiene was easily taught to the boys when they were young.
None of the men in my father's generation were circumcised as most were born at home on rural farms. Never heard about any dire infections. I think it is often a matter of hygiene and avoidance of risk factors.
In my work, I had the opportunity to observe one circumcision on a newborn done by a pediatric MD. There is no anesthesia given, by the way. I won't explain the process here, but it simply sickened me. Glad I did not have my sons circumcised.
lK734505, your experience with non-circumcision in your family is not evidence that infections don't exist or that they don't happen a lot. It's like saying that since no one in your family has AIDS means it never happens to other people.
Also, you think that by just telling boys to be clean that they will on their own. Boys tend to not clean themselves very well and cleaning the foreskin is a tedious job. You can even be good about washing and still get infections. The foreskin makes men more at risk for STDs.
I've gotten ear infections my whole life and still do into adulthood. I've lost significant hearing from them - but no one has ever suggested I cut off my ear.
This is why God told His people in the first place to be circumcised.
And who are "his" people? Circumcision just like C-sections are more common in the U.S.A. because they are more convenient and the doctors make money. You go to other countries in the world and might find it is not like that. So you say God told them so, but then you say
so using the Bible for this is WRONG!
So then what is it? BTW the bible was written by men, not god.
Really? So you are saying those who are circumcised can participate in irresponsible sexual contact with infected partners and be miraculously protected from STDs?
It seems more common sense to consider that if the penis owner puts it where the cooties are they are at risk for STD whether the penis is circumcised or not. But you believe what you want to believe.
lk734505, I wasn't saying that circumcision is an alternative to condoms or responsibility. I'm saying it adds to it. Condoms, while the best form of birth control and STD prevention, are not 100% effective. You can get an STD if you and your partner have always been faithful to each other and had no previous partners. Some people don't even know they have STDs. You can be responsible and get an STD. However, we both know that many people are not always responsible, so circumcising your child adds extra protection against such diseases when they become sexually active.
IK- My boys were all born in the 80's and the first thing the doctors asked was if I wanted them circumcised. I don't know where you lived, but i lived in Calif, Colo and AZ. It was just something that was done, and insurance paid for it- no problem. Now they won't pay for it, and it costs over $200. I gladly paid for my grandson's because I don't want him to grow up having problems. Sad thing is, now he will be a minority.
A Justthefax, just like every other skeptic, taking words out of context! Circumcisions have nothing to do with C-sections! If you're a man and uncircumcised, you will find out how necessary they are some day! You are write, the Bible was not physically written by God, but it was INSPIRED by God, so it is His word.
Was her child born at home? I ask because when they deliver a child at the hospital it is asked if you want this procedure done or not. She should have received a harsher sentence considering she was "acting" like a doctor and could have killed this boy. I say we allow her child to perform a hysterectomy on his mom since the judge seems to believe this was done with "good" intentions.
The simple answer is that Medicaid does not cover circumcision claiming that it is medically unnecessary. So, you do the math - majored in black studies and performing home circumcision. No mention of the father's reaction - oh, that's right there is no known father in this picture.
sam here's a reminder - medicaid (you know that government run healthcare system) is the one who denied coverage here. Also happened last week for a male breast cancer patient. If everyone buys into the government run single payor system, you bet your butt the government will make the decision as to what is medically necessary and what is not...you get no say, your doctor gets no say. Same as it is in other socialized countries. Not exactly a system I want to have in place.
MmmMmm - right now with the system we've got, it doesn't matter what the doctor says anyway. The insurance companies decide. Is that the system you like best? Think it's working just fine? You must have health coverage.
As for circumcision, it's been proven time and time again, despite what others have said on this board, that it's medically unnecessary. It is primarily a Jewish custom.
have you lived in any countries that have socialized medical? Well, I have, and you are wrong. While I lived there I never paid a penny for medical or dental, when my daughter was born we stayed in the hospital for 1 week, never paid for medicine, got free massages for back pains, etc. And yes! I did have a say! And so did my doctors! And they promote natural child birth and breastfeeding. You see a lot of women do this here? But of course you make more money with C-sections and formulas, really great system; capitalism at it's best. Me thinks you are mistaken socialized medical with communism?
When I had my son it was under medicaid and I did not have to pay for it. That was in 1992 so not sure if they changed the rules or not but even the young lady here at work who had a son (now age 2) on medicaid also was not charged for the procedure.
Probably would have been given some time in prision and the label of sexual predator. And oddly, Im not sure why she thought it needed, unless she was Jewish, there is no need to circumcise. Thats all part of the old covenant.
Dave, read my statement above. It is NOT all just because of the old covenant, and it is not just for Jewish people. I am a NEW Testament Christian and I am totally FOR circumcision, and not just for biblical reasons.
Diane, there are far more errors during circumcision itself than infections and diseases of an uncircumsized penis. It is a form of genital mutilation no matter how you want to spin it. The father of my son and my son neither are circumsized - both are fine. Go fearmonger somewhere else.
My son is circumcised because I felt it was the right thing to do. I researched the good and bad of both sides, and chose to circ. My religion had nothing to do with that decision.
Terriels a source for your misinformation please? Other than an anti-circumcision website. Here's an article I found on google scholar from JAMA you may find interesting: http://jama.ama-assn.org/content/277/13/1052.short
Basically, no there are not "far more errors" from performing circumcision. In fact, circumcision leaves the male with "slight" benefits. Better than no benefits in my opinion. I'm glad your father and son are OK, but so is my father, myself, and my son having been circumcised. After all it is a PARENT'S choice, not yours.
If you think this preventive procedure is genital mutilation, then I argue that removing a child's tonsils without his consent is also mutilation, as is removing wisdom teeth on an underage teenager. Parents make those decisions every single day without community backlash. Why is that? And don't tell me that is "medically necessary while circumcision is not" I've lived my whole life with both tonsils and wisdom teeth AND a circumcised member and I'm doing just fine!
A wild animal would not let anything happen to their baby cub and yet we humans will hand over our baby boys and have them go through this tramadic procedure. I see both sides and to each his own.
As far as the lady in the article, Nutcase and thank god her children and not in her care. I just can't imagine waking up and thinking, yep this is a good idea and I'll circumsize my own baby. WTF
You people who mock circumcision- I hope you get a penile infection! If you're a woman, I hope your husband does! Then let's see how "unnecessary" they are!
@Doubtingthomas - that is not even a sensible statement. There are numerous religions in the world and such a blanket statement would mean that anyone who has not heard of Jesus, Mohammad, Budda, or some other figure in a mainstream religion, but has their own tribal beliefs in spirits and deities is mentally ill? If you are implying there are a lot of religious fanatics in the world, I would wholeheartedly agree, but based on what I've witnessed in the last couple of decades there are plenty of fanatics to go around regardless of who they worship. These are the people who I worry about.
@Diane - Circumcision should be an individual choice. I respect that there are religious practices different than my own, but regardless of the religion there are proper protocols and procedures to follow to minimize pain and the possibility of infection. I am a southern, conservative Christian, but I chose not to have my son circumcised. I am not advocating abortion, but if women can have the right to choose concerning their own bodies, why can't little boys be given that right as well. Circumcision is not medically necessary, though there may be some arguable potential health benefits. Proper hygiene and education, coming from the parents, about sexual responsibility, can be just as effective. If my son decides to be circumcised as an adult, then it should be his decision alone. I am fully confident that he can decide with input from his future spouse what will be best. Since making the decision to not circumcise my son, new medical techniques have been developed to even make adult circumcision less painful. I don't regret this decision.
Mentally ill people use religion as a crutch. It's not religions fault, it's the fault of incredibly stupid people who should never have been allowed to procreate. Circumcism is regularly done at hospitals, by qualified doctors, not by mentally unbalanced parents.
A degree in black studies? Really? What kind of job do you get with that kind of degree? I'm sorry, but I really don't believe anyone this stupid could get any kind of degree or even find the university for that matter.
You all are pretty harsh about something so stupid and non life threatening. It's literally a tiny piece of skin. I'm not saying it's right, but I am saying that you all act like this woman commited some kind of satanic ritual with intestines hanging from her neck and dead goats laying around in a pentagram pattern or something.
She at the very least realized she screwed up and called 911 to get help for her kid. Not a single one of you can say you've never screwed something up.
She called 911 so she wouldn't be prosecuted for murder. Her children should be removed and placed in foster care. No telling what other lunatic religious rituals she has in mind.
Well, it IS a barbaric ritual after all. Goats and intestines aside, you don't need pagan imagery to see this was an act by a religious lunatic. Whether she worships a devil or any other supernatural spirit - she's nuts all the same.
BTW, bleeding uncontrollably as I understand it, can be "life threatening".
Geckotan~ I have to step back and agree with you...do people not circumcise anymore? My son was when he was born, it was a routine thing done (he is 23 now) and I don't understand the judgmental comments on here. I know that some doctors don't think is necessary however, studies have proven that little boys will be less likely to get infections under the foreskin and males in general will not get certain types of cancer. Also, I know of someone who did not have their boy circumcised at birth and at age 6, this poor kid a terrible infection (the mother didn't teach him to bathe properly no doubt) however, he was traumatized from the procedure so I say if you're going to do it, do it when they are newborns, they will never remember and they will be under supervision in a hospital.
Pagans do not worship the devil and hold sacrifices...they don't even believe in the devil. They believe in love and respect for all living things. However, that being said, there are fanatics in all religions that take things to the extreme.
Todd, it's not more then half the guy's sexual pleasure, if that was true, then we wouldn't need women for pleasure. We'd all sit in the corner with our foreskin.
Bchredhead, you're right, it's not a barbaric act if done by a professional and it is a fact that it is more sanitary in that particular region. And it is best to have it done when you're a baby because you will never remember it. Just like they cut puppies tails and clip the ears etc when they are young, yes it hurts, but nothing will remember it. (btw, i don't agree with the methods, just saying)
And before i get bashed, i never had it done on me, but if I did, i would want it done when i was a baby.
Were you circ at birth? or after having had sex with foreskin? The people in the latter category who get circ as adults, overwhelmingly they talk about major loss, as in "worst decision of my life" and "I cant believe so-and-so sensation is completely gone."
Personal as in stating I have been circumcised or the two pump chump statement. In post 13.1 you state you were circumcised. No to answer you I was circumcised at birth, I am so glad my mother did, having a friend at the age of 28 having to have it done and seeing the pain he went through and remembers. I do have a question for you though, you posted all this hype how it is less sensitive than a non-circumcised penis, how would you know this?
(1) Because I lived in Europe (where they don't do it) and played on a basketball team, (speaking of locker rooms). (2) Half of my family including my dad is uncut. I interviewed my dad point-blank about it. His jaw dropped. My cousins from Holland I interviewed. They told me stuff like "you were gypped" and "it DEFINITELY works, etc." I have 2 homo friends, one (who lived in Britain) said it was the "biggest difference in the 2 countries." My wife is from Russia, where they don't do it. She doesn't argue with me about sensitivity, she's just sorry "I found out." then the biological arguments on nocirc.org... the history of it in the US ... the history of it in Great Britain where it was dropped in 1949... and ... and ... Sadly, it's not hype.
Todd how can one say if the other is better? I have never been "uncut" so I don't know if I lost sensitivity or not. The same that someone who has been "cut" could never say they have more sensitivity.
Weallhaveopinoins, I gotta call you a moron now. Because you got personal on me several times and you're ignoring everything i said and know. Don't attack the messenger. It's not "psychology." I'm not "wondering" or "guessing." This is reality. Ask a foreigner male if they want to be circumcised and why not. Plus, there are other ways of seeing first-hand on the internet (nod nod wink wink) what you're missing out on. I'm sorry the truth is difficult and it sounds like a conspiracy theory. But why did they drop this in the UK, and not haveit at all in W. Europe, S. America, Russia, China, Japan, India? Our disease rates are not better than those of them with equal affluence levels. You think a 2500 year-old cutting is some kind of disease advantage? That the US figured out? BS! Come on. look at the progress on cancer. THATs how diseases are conquered. Again, look up the history of circ: the US only brought this on in 1920 after WWI vets brought back VD (and penicillin or any other antibiotic wasn't invented yet) and mastur was thought to lead to madness. Don't frikkin attack the messenger.
It removes a giant patch, called the "ridged band" that's packed with pleasure. it leaves you with a tiny patch on the undeneath, about a half a centimeter square, just enough so you can ejaculate, and reproduce. in terms of area, it reduces the most pleasurable spot by about 90%. (That's me. others may have less removed). Also with the missing skin you miss out oon the streching and folding action, etc., they also say the glans dry up, skin gets thicker, like as in callous, and less sensation makes its way through that. So, yes, it inhibits. Look into it. The web brought this all out in the open.
In terms of functionality, of course, your female partners usually can't tell. Liken it to eating without taste. The man still gets hungry as often, you still chew and swallow well and if you're well fed, you're pretty satisfied. but you don't taste anything. or much.
No it doesn't at all. No difference in the pleasure. The difference is that the male can more easily clean himself and in this promotes less infections.
Yah, that is what I was told when my son was born but still wished I had waited and let HIM make that decision. Doc's say now that the health issue is a bunch of baloney.
i have actually been told by my friend who was with a man that was not circumsized that it was not nearly as good for her during sex....i don't know from experience...
Kathryn, don't even second guess that decision! Having it done when they're an infant is the best time, because it's BEFORE all the nerves in that area have developed, so it's not as painful. A man having this done is in EXTREME pain during and after the procedure and there is more chance of infection. Boys who aren't circumcised get teased because they're "not like other boys" and they ARE more prone to getting infections- no matter how clean they keep themselves. I won't even go into how a woman feels being with an uncircumcised man... actually, MaddysMom just said it!
Speaking from experience, there really isn't much difference in "being"with circumcised and non-circumcised men. Your comment that babies don't have all of their nerves developed shows your ignorance. As does your comment that uncircumcised boys get teased for looking different. Close to 50% of boys do not have this procedure these days so that doesn't even have relevance. You prefer circumcision-we get it-not everyone shares your view. Calm down.
In reply to CatChick, I am a circumcised male and I believe that circumcision enhances pleasure during intercourse because the skin exposed behind the glans, the 'scar', left from the removal of the foreskin, is now sensitive and is a source of orgasm. I think Todd is wrong on this issue. I also agree with Diane and that when done as an infant that there is very little discomfort.
Is there any men on the Vine that have had sex without having a circumcision, then had sex post circumcision? Then we have a basis for a comparison to be made. Otherwise this is all speculation. Two guys arguing over who feels more during sex is like trying to prove a sunflower is jealous of crickets.
Also, if you are a fan of hygiene, keeping your penis clean with or without a foreskin should not be a difficult task.
In reply to Fargo, what you post is true. On the subject of hygiene, now that we live in modern times with access to running water and the ability to bath often, keeping the penis clean is not much of a problem. But in ancient times, the problem of smegma build-up was probably one of concern, leading to heath issues. Perhaps this was the reason the custom of circumcision evolved. But still, I'm happy that my parents had the foresight to have me circumcised at a young age. Its not mutilation as some portend. I do not miss my foreskin, as I am not a monkey running naked thru the forest.
I know someone who was circ'd as an adult (27yrs old I believe) and he believes sex is better now. He says that he feels more sensitive, and doesnt have to work so hard to keep it clean(not that it was hard, but its even easier now) Ive seen others on the vine from other article say the same thing. My husband was circ'd and is happy it was done while he was young. He insisted on having our son circ'd and thought I would protest, but I had already decided on doing it anyway.
Apparently, you've never seen a little kid with an infection there. Yep, little kids are notoriously unsanitary and it's a painful and gross infection. Regardless, the point has nothing to do with the circumcism debate, it's about a mentally unbalanced woman doing a surgical procedure on her child.
Ive seen a few young children get infections there. 2 of them had to be circ'd afterwards because it wasn't caught in time. They were embarrassed to tell their parents that it hurt. Much better and safer to have it done when they are infants.
What, she thought it was one of those weekend DIY projects ( "A little snip.....how difficult can this be?...." ) ? And you can see circumcisions on YouTube? At least she had the sense to run him to the hospital when it was obvious something went wrong, instead of trying more Old Testament-inspired "treatments".
Why is it accepted to cut off the patches of skin that serve the purpose of making sex pleasurable for the man? Why do women get the advantage that no one's allowed to strip off hoods of sensitive skin around their cl!toris? Talk about unfair.
We americans are one of the very few nations that still does this. noone here appreciates that this is a crime -- albeit accepted, because no one knows what a foreskin is. Ask a dutch or german or dane, or russian or chinese, or indian or south american man whether they'd go for being circumcised.
Even with a shot of novocaine, the practice is a severe violation and abuse, by reducing the male sexual experience drastically. It puts men at a major disadvantage to women in sex, and they become less attached to their partners. Jacob or Solomon or whoever the circumciser in the OT ... he'd be locked up under todays standards. And of course anyone who did the comparable thing to a girl would b locked up too. Talk about unfair.
Todd again, I am sorry you don't enjoy sex, but don't group all of us circumcised in one catagory. I for one enjoy it. How does it put one at a major disadvantage with a woman and how does one become less attached to there partner? I have no problem with either.
Hey friend, we all need sex so of course I enjoy it! How is circ disadvantage for me and others? Because maybe they took too much off of me (and didn't for you). Back way back in my 20s, I noticed my partners were going wild while I was staring off into space and feeling not much. I asked my pals and they had the same experience. Now i'm a bit older it takes a very long time to climax, and it's not very fun. But yes, there are a ton of factors in enjoyment. I know what I know from interviewing people and living abroad where it's not done. I do think it should be dropped, because it came about in the USA about 100 years ago, check the history, to repress sex, which has been vilified, and seen as a source of moral degradation and diseases they had no cure for back in the day. thanks for your concern.
The reporter can't even get her name right. It's not Keemonta Peterson, it's KeEmonta Peterson. Check her My Space page. Geez. By the way she's Yahayah's Chosen Vessel for those of you that care.
Don't know but way too many scary people out here today........this women is obviously mentally impaired and the judge should be impeached, recalled or however you can get him gone.....what a stupid decision, he just put all her children at great risk.
Isis, I scarcely think my comment could be taken as "jumping down your throat". I believe I was stating an opinion. Atavist was unkindly using a word that normally refers to some peoples' particular sexual orientation as an insult, which was inappropriate. You, correctly I believe, called him/her out on it. But your response struck me as a bit thoughtless, even though I believe you meant no insult to anyone else.
Xtians are soooooo stupid. I sincedrely hope this little boy recovers from his mother's so called old testament fervor.
and azindies are sooooo prejudiced.
I agree Heather, but not if you're a minority.
i think the barbarous act here was the fact that the untrained, uneducated mother tried doing it herself at home....it should be done by a doctor and it does not take a genius to know that! she is mental and should be locked up with her children taken away!
I feel bad for men, having to go through this.
i have yet to hear a man say that sex is not good cause they have been circumsized! men who have and have not love sex just the same....get over it!
isis-1618599 & Maddysmommy You have an argument with no basis for comparison. Let's ask the men on the vine.
Those of us who are circumcised, Is sex good? Those of us who are not circumcised, Is sex good? I'll bet we get a whole lot of yesses.
Truth is- even when its bad, its still kinda good.
HEY! I still think it's stupid to remove a piece of skin that can provide that much MORE pleasure when LEFT ALONE.
im sorry...is isis a man? woops...i missed that
I think we all need to check post #'s 13.2 and 13.11....and then shut the hell up if we have not experienced it ourselves!
P.S. I will feel anyway i want...for anyone i want....kk
So NO I am NOT done with this conversation.
well then keep talkin.....cause i am done....have a nice life...been nice talkin to ya
have a nice life....dont have to tell me twice, but in the future you might want to watch the smartass comments and assumptions.
You can't always tell what sex someone is by their screen name. You dont have to be transgender to put a guys name up, or even a masculine sounding name. I say you have identity issues because you freaked out when someone thought you were male (which they probably gathered because of your previous posts describing a mans pleasure while having sex)
My screen name is a perfect example of that and is part of the reason I selected it.
I agree 100%.......it is a barbaric religious custom , a hold over from the days when children were property.....appalling.
Some of you people need to let go and let parents be parents. It's not your decision so stay out of it.
lK734505, your experience with non-circumcision in your family is not evidence that infections don't exist or that they don't happen a lot.
@ Diane,
And who are "his" people? Circumcision just like C-sections are more common in the U.S.A. because they are more convenient and the doctors make money. You go to other countries in the world and might find it is not like that. So you say God told them so, but then you say
So then what is it? BTW the bible was written by men, not god.
Watched youtube videos then decided to try it herself? and this woman has 4 kids!!!
Anyone want to wager on how much the taxpayers are paying for this loon to procreate?
P.S.
Why does YouTube allow videos of genital mutilation if they really do exist there?
Just, your comment:
"The foreskin makes men more at risk for STDs."
Remind me again why not everyone should have health care.
It's not just Medicaid! Other insurance companies are now following suit, as well!
sam here's a reminder - medicaid (you know that government run healthcare system) is the one who denied coverage here.
@MmmMmmBeer,
have you lived in any countries that have socialized medical? Well, I have, and you are wrong. While I lived there I never paid a penny for medical or dental, when my daughter was born we stayed in the hospital for 1 week, never paid for medicine, got free massages for back pains, etc. And yes! I did have a say! And so did my doctors! And they promote natural child birth and breastfeeding. You see a lot of women do this here? But of course you make more money with C-sections and formulas, really great system; capitalism at it's best. Me thinks you are mistaken socialized medical with communism?
fellinggood:
When I had my son it was under medicaid and I did not have to pay for it. That was in 1992 so not sure if they changed the rules or not but even the young lady here at work who had a son (now age 2) on medicaid also was not charged for the procedure.
medicaid covers this where i live
As punishment, she should be circumcised, preferably by someone who learned how to do it from youtube.
WTF
I'm glad the authorities were able to jump on this right away and nip it in the bud before the mother did.
If it wasn't such a sick crime there's also plenty of jokes to be made about her name being Peterson.
Religion is the seed of mental illness.
If that's the case, what's YOUR excuse?
Bad insult David. You're just embarrassing yourself.
Agree doubtingthomas.......this is not the only religious custom that has worked its way into modern culture...crazy stuff.
You people who mock circumcision- I hope you get a penile infection! If you're a woman, I hope your husband does! Then let's see how "unnecessary" they are!
Dianne,
Does your man know you have sharp objects in your house? Just sayin'
Diane that was a nice Christian comment.
Wow Diane, calm down. It is an adult conversation here. You have clearly stated your opinion and not everyone is going to agree with you.
I envision Diane going around the neighborhood with a knife and copy of the utube video to carry out this woman's deeds....lol
Crazy women with sharp objects = A guys worst nightmare
The reality is, she is crazy and potentially criminal. Giving it religious overtones is no excuse. No children should be left in her "care".
thank you! someone who actually sees the real point here!
If you're with a circumcised man, you always see the point. ; )
Ironically (according to her MySpace page) she has a Bachelors Degree (in "Black Studies"). In theory she should not be an ignorant fanatic.
Ah-ha! I understand now. Her son is black. She was just trimming off the excess.
Crazy doesn't mean stupid.
Also, I know of someone who did not have their boy circumcised at birth and at age 6, this poor kid a terrible infection (the mother didn't teach him to bathe properly no doubt) however, he was traumatized from the procedure so I say if you're going to do it, do it when they are newborns, they will never remember and they will be under supervision in a hospital.
it's not a fingernail, it's more than half they guy's sexual pleasure for life. that's a lot. go look up "foreskin."
Pagans do not worship the devil and hold sacrifices...they don't even believe in the devil. They believe in love and respect for all living things. However, that being said, there are fanatics in all religions that take things to the extreme.
I know lots of Pagans and their first precept is to do no harm to anything living thing.........good enough for me.
Todd you are so full of it, I have been circumcised and enjoy sex very much. If I enjoyed it anymore I would be a two pump chump.
Were you circ at birth? or after having had sex with foreskin? The people in the latter category who get circ as adults, overwhelmingly they talk about major loss, as in "worst decision of my life" and "I cant believe so-and-so sensation is completely gone."
If BTW, why you gotta get personal?
The same that someone who has been "cut" could never say they have more sensitivity.
when you see a guy with an eye patch, can't you surmise that he's missing vision on half of his face?
Todd I am thinking maybe you need to find another partner. Then again it could be psychological.
It's not about circumcising a child, that's common, doctors do it all the time. It's about ignorant parents deciding to do it themselves.
From what I can tell of the names, most - if not all of you are men on this vine, so far.
Being a woman, I cannot speak from experience (obviously)...Does male circumcision inhibit sexual pleasure? I'm sincerely asking...
Calm down.
Also, they have more of a chance of getting an infection after this procedure. It is considered an open wound.
@ T.Fargo: Yes, see my response above at 13.2
I know someone who was circ'd as an adult (27yrs old I believe) and he believes sex is better now. He says that he feels more sensitive, and doesnt have to work so hard to keep it clean(not that it was hard, but its even easier now)
Ive seen others on the vine from other article say the same thing. My husband was circ'd and is happy it was done while he was young. He insisted on having our son circ'd and thought I would protest, but I had already decided on doing it anyway.
thank god the children are no longer with her. "love" isn't an issue here...she is not even close to mentally competent.
The article did not say if her "operation" was successful? Maybe she did a great job to get off light with a probation sentence.
Leaving a helpless infant bleeding profusely and in intense pain is not my definition of successful.
I guess she didn't know this procedure is already covered by Obamacare.
Circumcision is an act of hate not of love. The judge and the mother should see the inside of a cell.
Exactly what I think too.
Danny has a dog in this fight. Ohhh yeah.
Just be thankful she didn't watch any YouTube videos on brain surgery.
Sorry---I forgot the detail of calling 911 & not actually taking him to the hospital herself.
WTF is wrong with people?!?!?!? OMG...
Don't know but way too many scary people out here today........this women is obviously mentally impaired and the judge should be impeached, recalled or however you can get him gone.....what a stupid decision, he just put all her children at great risk.
I've been told.
And yet, doctors are allowed to mutilate male genitals on a daily basis and get away with it.
Don't be so gay.
Don't be so gay.....um, why don't you actually provide a REAL argument, and stop using comments that sound BIGOTED to insult somone.
Don't be so LAME.
Isis, as someone w/ severe arthritis, in both knees, using "lame" in that context isn't very nice, either.
Well, I was using it to describe a BEHAVIOR, not a disease...get it straight before jumping down my throat.
