This used to be called a bed-side-manner. It is hard to tell a patient they are dying in a 15 minute appointment which is the average appointed time span allotted per patient. Any news that a doctor gives a patient should be done in a compassionate, educative manner. A second opinion should always be gotten because not all doctors graduated at the top of their class or are aware of new treatments [trial or otherwise] that may be available.
