Here we go again subordinating another freedom to the so-called "greater good" by forcing kids to submit to a drug test in order to be a part of the school. This all got started when insurers and businesses whose employees operated vehicles or machinery that might put others at risk and the business liable for their paid behavior, required drug-free employees to be able to avoid large liablities. I do not have a problem with that. However, random drug testing of students as young as the 6th grade? Come on! The schools have no liability involved. They could easily test with cause and nobody would object, but randomly subjecting young people to drug testing is beyond necessity. It is like punishing somebody for doing nothing! Do it WITH cause, but not without cause. Next think the cops will be pulling over drivers at random just to check if their "papers" are in order just because they are trying to make sure that everybody is complying with the law. Now they just do it when a stop is made for an obvious reason. Drug testing of gammer school students smacks of creeping socialism and the desire of our public schools to create a race of "sheeple."

If you think my kids are on something feel free to call me. Then butt the hell out and leave it to me and our doctor, you just teach them their periodic table k?

This is the same conservative values state that breed Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church , looks like Freds message is spreading , next it will be drug testing if kids are found dancing on Sundays

First off the people who generally push this are the people who make a PROFIT from doing drug screenings. Second off if you feel you need to randomly drug test the students the faculty/administrators and parents should also have to under the same process. I grew up in this country with the presumption that you are assumed INNOCENT until proven guilty.

This is bulls***. There is no reason for this other than a way to get people to accept the idea that someone in any position of authority knows best and brainwashing them to be compliant at a young age. I cannot believe parents are allowing this. There are other schools that will actually educate your children to think for themselves. At my school we had an honor code that was so integral to the community that any violation of that honor code would result in expulsion. But there were no cameras on us to try and catch us in violation either.

The one student's response that she doesn't mind because she doesn't do drugs is the standard reasoning behind such invasive policy. But what happens when she is ostracized because the screening reveals that she takes a prescription medication for depression or reveals that she is taking birth control pills? What happens when the standard is a school that only accepts "healthy children" and begins random screening for those who have eaten excessive amounts of sugar or caffeine?

The sheeple are being conditioned to accept anything that is deemed "for their own protection." I don't suppose its coincidence that they are doing this in Kansas - middle America, home of the conformist and group stupidity. I am sure that gassing millions of Jews at the time of the Holocaust was done to protect someone too.

Please wake up and stop allowing others to control your life. Because if you do not, you will vote away MY rights along with your own at the soonest opportunity - and then there's gonna be a fight.
