The good news for doctors: more than three-quarters of the claims do not result in any payments.
So at least 3/4 of the suits are frivolous. Is it any wonder why the cost of seeing a doctor has risen so much? There may be no awards but there are a lot of attorney fees involved. It's utter BS that so many suits should be crap and still nothing happens at all to the people filing them. This must stop.
Americans and their 'sue everyone' mentality are screwing everyone else in the country while they selfishly seek their lottery win. It's time for the looser to pay all. I don't even think we can put in the cravat that the loser pays all if it's determined to be frivolous. I think judges wouldn't be willing to award those kinds of damages. It would cut into their business too much.
It's also strange that our new health care bill doesn't cover anything what-so-ever about this. Pathetic.
