That wasn't much of an article. For example, it didn't even mention that Bachmann accused Perry of a conflict of interest in the pharmaceutical company that produces the vaccine. I think Perry's ratings will quickly plummet, and none too soon. It's funny, but it seems that maybe all we have to do is wait for all of the remaining tea party members to attend the remaining debates and point out all of the serious flaws in each other. Way to go Bachmann.
Excuse me? accusing Perry of being in cahoots with Merck sounds like quite a stretch that involves quite a bit of corruption, so at least a bit of evidence would be warranted for this not to be nothing more than an unsubstantiated cheap shot that affects a company that hires 100K employees. Not to be on the Pharma side but the vaccine does reduce healthcare costs by eliminating the genital wart treatment needs as well as reducing the incidence of uterine cancer. Go check the facts at the Australian, Swede and the UK health ministries. Data is there, really easy to find. bing it, google it. Not that Ms Bachmann cares about facts and evidence though...
I'm not here to debate the pros and cons of the vaccine...that's not what the article was about. It was about Bachmann attacking Perry's hypocrisy. He claims to be opposed to big government interfering in the lives of Americans, and yet he single-handedly mandates that all 12-year old females get a vaccination to protect against a sexually transmitted disease. Aren't all Teapublicans in favor of abstinence as their method of controlling STD's and unwanted pregnancies? We don't really even know the long term potential problems with the vaccine. He claims that he is just trying to save lives, but isn't that the goal of a national health care program? To save lives? Why is Obama Care socialist, but mandating all girls be vaccinated is not? I don't need to bing/google the sites you list...I've done plenty of reading on the vaccine. The point is, Bachmann made an excellent point, and she is correct.
I watched the show and for once I liked what this congresswoman did. Shows that people can not be wrong all the time. In her case however, this particular incident happens so irregular and so few that I still find her not suitable for continuing serving in Public office.
She should question it. Perry's jobs in Texas were jobs created for the State. He worked on Clinton's campaign. From the best I can tell the guy is a socialist. Just like Romney. Whether Perry or Romney, you're going to get no different than the guy we have as president now. You have no choice amongst these. Just more of the same.
Well hell just froze over. I thought for sure I would not have one thing to agree on with Ms. Bachmann. Ever..
Gardisil only protects against a small number of HPV strains that cause cervical cancers. The "vaccine" itself is questionable when comsidering its potential, long term side effects girls/women may develope.
Strange how Parry promotes less gov't intrusion into people's lives, but feels this is completely acceptable. I smell a rat, just not the one in the pharm's lab...
Uhm, arne't vaccinations voluntary anyway? He might as well try to mandate that people get flu shots, pneumonia shots, all childhood shots, ongoing adult vaccinations (ie tetanus)..after all, they all prevent illness as well.
What in the world is in the water these people drink?
