If you like this, just wait a couple more decades. We have the ability to clone ourselves and then harvest the organs to replace our worn out ones. Only the religious zealots consider clones actual human beings! How silly, after all, they came from our own bodies. My body my choice.

They're prohibited from cloning persons (not to say it wouldn't be done) and the benefits to medical science outweigh the "Frankenstein" paranoid ramblings of the religious followers of the invisible guy in the sky. If you must bring God into the conversation, let it be along the lines of "let's use the brains that He gave us." The Bush Admin has already put us behind the curve in this field of science.
Did you not see the part of the article where they are going to create "embryos" using nuclear transfer from adult cells and then harvest the embryonic stem cells? How is this not "cloning persons"?
This is only a problem for people who consider a fertilized clump of cells containing human DNA - a potential person - to be an actual person, fully-endowed with rights. Which is something the majority of consider absurd, but the True Believers have the ears of far too many politicians who write the illogical prohibitions against such research.
There is too big a business off of sick people to let any real cure come through but keep hoping.
A plant that is by fact medicinal and that anyone one can grow and use for medicinal purposes on their own and in their own home/apt/hut is illegal but stem cells will do just fine ? it will be fought big time not to mention only the rich will most likely be able to ever afford it.
But hurray.

MY question: "embryo" is such a vague term. At what stage where the cells harvested? Religious views aside, an embryo's heart begins to beat approximately 3 weeks after fertilization. Also, for those that call human conception, "... a fertilized clump of cells containing human DNA ..." .... Thank your mother for keeping her fertilized clump of cells containing human DNA...
Can you give grantee that scientist will not create cloned man just like dolly ram?If scientists created cloned man is that man will be kindhearted or devil?How you civilized him just like human child who teach him cultural norms?
ya'll going to hell for trying to play God. Call me what you want religous fanatic, scientific research inhibitor, whatever. There's a reason why human embryos have not been successfully cloned. There are some things God does not want you to know. There are some things you don't WANT God to let you know.
