OMG what are they doing, oh @!$%# what am I going to do. NOOOOOOOOOOO not my energy drink, this is wrong. I need another cup of coffee make it a double. Geez what is wrong with these people.
Caffeine will be limited to 180 milligrams in a single serving, a level that Health Canada said is comparable to the amount in a medium cup of coffee.
I'm not sure if the labeling laws are different in Canada, but in the U.S. a single container can contain multiple "servings." Therefore such a regulation would amount to jack s**t.
There`s an energy drink made in Canada called "Beaver Buzz", it has 143mg of caffeine in it, the berry flavor tastes pretty good. 143 mg is the most caffeine I`ve ever seen in an energy drink, maybe Health Canada was worried about Beaver Buzz extra strength coming out.
NOS, now distributed by Coca-Cola, has 240 mg. Spike has over 300mg. not too sure why they'd be all that worried... a dangerous dose of caffeine is something like ten grams, that would be hundreds of cans of any energy drink.....
God forbid any government let the people decide what is best to put in their own bodies. Why does any government feel the need to try to "protect" us when we should be able to make our own choices? As long as the ingredients are CLEARLY marked on the energy drink, people should be free to make their own choice. Too much government in our lives.
Calm down, it's CAFFEINE. Caffeine. If you have too much, you get the jitters, maybe a stomach ache and lose a night's sleep. If you're a slow learner, that could continue for a while. And if you just like having a natural substance to help you through your day, that's your prerogative. Freedom of choice and all that stilly "rights" stuff. Are the lawmakers who make these decisions ok with the thought of their personal alcohol, tobacco, or prescription med intake being regulated? I bet not.
Guess they'll just have to smoke more cigarettes.
Wow! A government with an ounce of common sense! Figure the odds.
:)
I was going to run out on the streets with my gun and protest "The Nanny State" ... but I don't have a gun.
This is my Red Bull
This is my gun......
There's money to be made Capone style smuggling of real Red Bull across the border! In Washington state on the return trip bring back that BC bud!
I don't have the energy to make a witty comment.
Canada truly has nothing better to do. They don't restrict sales of coffee, so why terrorize drinks that have less caffeine?
I have a friend that got a felony conviction in Canada for bringing in ordinary No Doze caffeine pills. Ridiculous.
Coffee isn't markered to teens. now is it? BTW since it is their country shouldn't we be gracious enough to let them run it.
No, Canada just has a lot more spare time, since their government isn't constantly tied up with infantile bickering that creates deadlock.

Too many hockey pucks to the head...

You must be a lawyer LOL you already see the way around it.
One can 600 Milligrams = 3 servings! Problem solved! They are now 3 serving cans.
I call BS on the felony. You can buy No Doze in any pharmacy.

This helps to limit costs in a taxpayer-paid healthcare system. Or would you rather canadians have to pay more for people's bad decisions?
REV with ALL due respect Idon't want the government or THE CHURCH telling people what to eat and drink!
Remember -Rev. Jim Jones........... keep your cool-aid
And I'LL Keep my freedom
Soon the Canadians will have the government wipe their butt when they poop they live in such a nanny state.
No wonder Canadians are considered the wimps of the west
