Thanks, "experts," for the usual confusing and worthless information. In this case it appears to come down to our deciding whether we'd rather die of heart disease or cancer.
I'll go with cancer. You have warning and a fighting chance -- not always the case with heart attack.
I think these high levels of exercise must signal to your body that it is stressful living conditions, therefore do not bring child into it. Therefore your body changes to non-child bearing mode earlier. You never know, things that we think are so beneficial may actually not be. Our bodies are complex things. I do notice that women who are really active do seem to age quicker and do not look youthful. They look fit and everything, but definitely aged. The whole thing is interesting. Maybe self care is not so much about killing yourself in the gym, but moderating and taking true, good care of yourself and perhaps taking it easier.
Let's see should I reduce my exercising since I may become perimenopausal and have a higher risk of heart disease, etc? Just for grins here are some of the headlines on MSNBC today regarding my health:
1. Chocolate lovers have fewer strokes, study finds
2. Some common vitamin supplements could increase death risk, study finds
3. 'White' fruits, veggies take a bite out of stroke risk Eat chocolate or fruit??
4. "Women using hormonal contraceptives were twice as likely to become infected with HIV" Article title: Hormonal contraception ups HIV risk in women
5. Ob-gyn guidelines often based on opinion, weak data
My favorite of the day was this header: Mind-blowing sex actually can wipe memory clean
The list goes on but why dwell. I should just live my life the way I want; eating, exercising, partying and being me because anything can cause my death. So, I might as well be happy doing what I want instead of reading all of these BS hypotheses. I know they are advising but at this rate I will not be able to eat, step outside, or anything else.
