I think it has more to with the fact that men just don't care.
Yeah, I binge on two large pizzas then I go work out - big honkin' deal.
It's the same as mowing the lawn in shorts and black socks - what are you cryin' about - the lawns mown ain't it?
Makes you wonder why there is no concern about issues that affect men, just whiny women's issues.

I remember teaching in a small private school in which some of the teenage boys competed to see who could eat the most. I admonished them about this; the male science teacher at the school even spoke to them about it, about the adverse consequences of eating too much. Our words seemed to have no effect. I saw some of these boys later and they were seriously obese.
Also, has anyone noticed the recent Jack in the Box ad in which two young men have spent the night overeating? Many fast-food ads seem to promote overeating, for obvious reasons....
